By Peter Sellick, published 12/2/2018

When people ask me, what work I have done and I explain that I worked as a neuroscientist and as a Uniting Church minister, the response is always one of mystification.

anyone would think Trump was God by the way the regressives along with Daffy spew out their hatred. Get over it, Hilary lost. How long will your grief and hatred last?

I was fairly sure that the bible taught about having a soul, on at least a few different sections. For instance Hebrews 4:12.

Perhaps if you explained that you worked on nerves in the ears of guinea-pigs, Peter, they would realise that your scientific career had little or nothing to do with understanding the human mind.

There is nothing mystifying about working in science and being spiritual at the same time - people must pay their bills and it is a necessary compromise for earning our daily bread, although driving a garbage-truck is probably more respectable and beneficial (but sadly doesn't pay as much).

Certainly working in science with no belief in God leads to idiotic irrational decisions. The culprits are even to dishonest or blind to see it.
