The many causes of the Charlottesville violence : Comments

Yeah, a lot of them do. And I've read some extremely well written and persuasive articles from southerners who argue that they should be retained because history is important even if it's ugly. Sometimes it's important because it's ugly, as warning to future generations.
But you cannot deny that there were some people involved in the Charlottesville unpleasant who were outspoken and unashamed white supremacists. Well, I guess technically you can, but you'll be in error. The facts are the facts.
And white supremacists should be soundly condemned at very available opportunity. The enemy of your enemy is not always your friend. The people who want to tear down the statues are wrong. But the white supremacists are even more wrong. And that is why they attract the most condemnation: Lavis 16:4 He who is most wrong shall be the most heavily criticised.
