Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the prospect of a two-state solution : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 18/12/2017

I predicted that the move would have major consequences and may well destroy the prospect of a negotiated peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

There never was, and there will never be, any “ prospect of a negotiated peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.” as long as Islam exists.

A Stroke of rare genius perhaps?

That has brought a powerful Saudi Arabia and others, united and out on on the side of the Palestinian cause? And Turkey, which has the largest standing army in NATO and at least fifty thermonuclear warheads?

And offered an opportunity for Putin to step into the negotiator's vacuum Trump has created? And allowed Trump to wash his hands of any further involvement!

And includes a tailor made opportunity, for Erdogan to move closer to Russia and an axis of evil?

And has made it imperative for the usually indifferent Israeli leadership, (and Sara Nethanyahu) to focus on a negotiated two state solution they/she can live with!

Including a divided East/West Jerusalem and the complete cessation of all the illegal West Bank settlements!

Anything else, including delays beyond the next six months is fraught!

Turkey has the largest army in Europe mainly based around Gallipoli and Anzac Cove. The cliffs hold two thousand nuclear Thorium 233 bombs at $1.98 per battle-casualty , throw away safe and re-usable.

Trump just pointing out the obvious truth. Next people will point out the neighbouring countries have no intentions of doing anything on the Palestinians- they have to give up land which is never going to happen. They want Israeli land now that Israelis developed the area. We had the BS status and it did nothing. The neighbouring states are happy to have the militas shoot missiles but know that their disorganised militaries have no chance against Israel.
