All we can do is push MPs to fix this mess of foreign donations and stop wasting time on trivial issues of little consequence

And while all eyes are on Sam, unseen others are ready to do China's bidding just like those having done, and doing, the UK and US bidding before them.
But then you will always have the Jingo claiming it's ok to betray to anyone that speaks the Queens English 'cos they're really one of us. Don't look at the ideas one brings to the table, look at their citizenship coz we live in country where an idea from a 'will never be' is always better than one bearing enlightenment....the only problem is that you need enough smarts to tell the difference.....and sadly Australia has never progressed sufficiently. We had it all and pissed it away..... as has always been our lot Posted by ilmessaggio, Tuesday, 5 December 2017 2:46:53 PM

This afternoon (5 December) Turnbull is making announcements to cut down on foreign donations and influence.
Let's see if it has the effect we need. http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/malcolm-turnbull-unveils-crackdown-on-foreign-donations-interference-in-australian-democracy-20171205-gzyw80.html Posted by Waverley, Tuesday, 5 December 2017 3:30:24 PM

Its pretty straightforward, you put a tariff on imports until they improve conditions...an added benefit would be that job quality in Australia's millennial working class would improve as well, so its a bit of win win scenario. So amazing for the people.

It comes as no surprise that china now threatens the U.S.A. As the premier super power/largest economy!
And I predicted it as long as 20 years ago. We ourselves could threaten that sheer economic power if we were as united and single minded, rather than a divided rabble fighting each other, usually over non issues like SSM, and the spoils of defeat! Passing strange that the CONSERVATIVE party would accept foreign donation by any foreign entity, let alone one coming from anything connected to communism! We should get our act together, become one Australia, working for and advantaging other fellow Australians, rather than almost anyone else with a fistful of Chinese gold! Honest John started this rot, I believe, by negotiating CNG (forty pieces of silver) contracts with of all countries, communist China, with its abysmal human rights record! Failing the above, one united Australia, learn mandarin and how to properly cow tow! Understanding a privileged few will still do okay for a time. At least until they have outlived their usefulness! And or have nothing we Australians used to own, to sell! Along with any remaining vestiges of self respect! As for slippery Sam? He has had more chances than anyone else could have possibly earned and ought to be thrown to the baying wolves! And with nothing in the way of political entitlements? Save a one way ticket to Shanghai? Economy class! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Tuesday, 5 December 2017 4:25:59 PM

""The proposal has been fully recognised and highly affirmed by the Shandong Province Party Committee, the Provincial Government and the Department of Commerce," the Chinese government statement said.
The statement also said deputy secretary Liu had met Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and NT Chief Minister Adam Giles on April 14, 2016, and "proposed the co-operative model of Two Countries, Two Parks".
Mr Ye placed Mr Robb on his payroll 10 weeks later.
One of Mr Ye's companies later produced lobbying material in Mr Robb's name in which the former trade minister described the Rizhao trade park as a project that "advances the objectives in the historic (CHAFTA) accord [that] I was honoured to play a significant role" while trade minister.
"I encourage you to explore the Australia Park in China… where partnerships and collaboration between these two great nations will flourish for years to come," the statement in Mr Robb's name said.
In March, Mr Robb and Mr Ye travelled together to Sydney from China, where both attended a business and trade forum hosted by the Australian government, as part of Premier Li Keqiang's visit.
In a November 2016 interview with the ABC, Mr Robb said that "most of what he [Mr Ye] wants me for is because of my knowledge of other countries and other governments. He's got a global strategy for his company and he wants me to help him outside of Australia more than he wants me to help him inside Australia."
The private agreement between Mr Robb and Mr Ye contains no mention of Mr Robb's international knowledge and networks, referring only to his role providing "consulting" and "strategic" services.
Mr Robb has also been spruiking Rymill Coonawarra, a South Australian winery in which Mr Ye has a financial interest"...SEE MORE
