It's all about trust : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 12/12/2016

The Minister for Justice, Michael Keenan, told me that he never had any intention of allowing the shotguns to be imported. In other words, there had never been any intention of keeping to the bargain.

I am astounded that you ever thought that you could believe a politician!

Aside from that I saw an advertisement/claim that the weapon could be fired at a round per second.

Perhaps so, if it were merely pointed at the ground and the action operated. But Aimed shots per second? Not in your wildest dreams.

you are a conviction politician David which should be admired. Abbott was also a conviction pollie although he was very silly to agree to wasting more money on Gonski etc to be elected. He also should of slashed funding for the socialist propganda (abc). Turnbull on the other hand has next to no conviction hence Pauline's resurrection.

You sound surprised David. You shouldn't be. It's todays Liberal party.
They'll say absolutely anything to get your vote.

Confidence is draining away. Seems every day one can look at the news and find yet another cause for concern. In this case it's the clear intention to deceive along with yet another example of direct state interference in the marketplace. Wouldn't be so bad if there was some logic to it.
Indeed it's quite the irony that those who're always ready to say we need to improve efficiency move so cavalierly to restrict more efficient tools when they come along.

It's a disturbingly recurring trend.

What a waste of time and effort, no professional hooter will bother to get an Adler on Cat.D as there are far more efficient guns available in that category.

Anyway a double barrel, auto ejector shotgun can be fired faster than an Adler.

As for rapidity of fire and aimed shots I can fire 15 aimed shots, at 50 yards, from a single shot rifle in one minute.

Further to the above; while all the argument was going on over the classification of the Adler, the 1890 pump action .22 Winchester (126 year old technology) that can hold 23 rounds in the magazine, was sitting happily in Cat A where it's been since 1996 and nary a word about this fast firing rifle. (hold the trigger down and it fires as the breech block locks).

Maybe it's time for those that object to rapidity of fire to start doing their home work.

This is an 1892 Winchester, of which there are thousands in Australia, 124 year old technology.
The opening from "The Rifleman", didn't turn a hair back in 1958.

Now that's rapid fire. Turnbull et. al. take note.
