A good article that tells the truth. Social disadvantage due to lack of work, homelessness, poverty and the consequent educational disadvantage makes people angry, frustrated, depressed, and ready to snap and blame whoever is nearest. You can see it an all animal species...when they feel trapped, they lash out.
Reducing social services, lowering pensions, sub standard housing and overcrowding, sending jobs off shore, destroying the manufacturing sector and the satisfying jobs that went with it, all in the name of economic rationalism that makes the rich richer and the poor very much poorer, is a recipe for social divisiveness, violence and what we are now seeing. Most family violence isn't sexist, it's pure desperation finding an outlet.

yep when the abc has a feminist who once claimed that Bindy Irwin at the age of about 13 needed to get laid she was cheered. Most of the hysteria about hysteria could've been avoided if Price had clarified to Van that it was nothing to do with her ovaries.

It is't really a left v right issue; more a disagreement among individuals about the link between banter and attitudes to women.

Hysteria is Def Leppard's best album, but in other contexts it's usually worth avoiding.
