Clipping academic freedom: Australian university management : Comments
By Binoy Kampmark, published 15/6/2016As for Ward, fearing that such a figure might be, if not actually, affecting potential revenues, or the brand label, the La Trobe University establishment rounded up on her.

The real reason Ward was singled out was because conservatives/rightists decided to do to leftists what they had been doing to conservatives/rightists for years. It has very little to do with universities being a supposed 'business institution'. Remember Barry Spurr? There are a number of other non-leftist academics that have been hounded and/or fired from their university positions because of not holding the orthodox leftist view on things. Ward simply received in return what she and her fellow leftists dealt out for years. Where were you, Mr Kampmark, when Spurr was being hounded? Cheering from the sidelines I bet. You reap what you sow.

Yep reason and logic by grooming and sexualising kids Alan B. You demostrate no reasoning or logic but a willingness to go along with such putrifying the minds of kids who should be out in the playground instead of being indoctrinated with this garbage. Certainly the modern university does need reforming and purging of the Marxist who are anti intellectual, quite often violent and show no free thought other than pushing their perverse ideas.

If a university is a place which encourages a free flow of knowledge and following an idea wherever it may lead it should get rid of business and divinity schools.

A long time ago and in a different place the following comment was heard, apparently?
Senator, I disagree with everything you say, but would lay down my life so you could say it.
Those who choose politics, have to understand that they and their more daft ideas will sometimes oblige them to wear sometimes ribald ridicule, and need to wear it as the price paid for extremely well rewarded public office?
Always providing it does not include profanity!
Someone, who generally only adds controversy to their extremely well funded role, drawing their salary, pensions and entitlements from the public purse ought to be prepared to personally hand them back before complaining about state funded handouts, delivered as broken record rhetoric!
And given it's hardly genuine, I believe, but just delivered to try and get back in after winning on a patent con the first time round, has to expect some lampooning?
Too precious by half politicians need to understand and particularly at election time; if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen!
Freedom of speech needs to be protected and not just in universities, or for a privileged elite!
