Is Mise,
Here is another instance where our politicians fail females.

The head of the Immigrant Women's Health Service in Fairfield, Sydney (a government funded service) Doctor Eman Sharobeen, stated to the press that she knows of 60 underage marriages that occurred in the last 3 years.

Our government does nothing about that. These are forced underage marriages.

Other situations where our law fails women and Muslims show their contempt for our society.

In a report compiled by the Islamic Women's welfare Council of Victoria it is claimed that Imams perform polygamous marriages and underage marriages.

The most concerning aspect of the report claims that some divorced husbands turn up at the former wives residence and demand sex and forcibly have it. They claim that Islam does not recognize our laws and they are still married. In our society this is termed rape.

This report was presented to the Rudd Labor government but has been buried. Although it was commissioned by the government, it has never been tabled. Although the claims were alarming the report only got press on one day and nothing more has been heard of it. The Islamic Womens website was also shut down for over a week.

So is it actually us who don't respect or value women's rights or is this idea so deeply rooted in the Muslim societies it's them who don't do this? If they themselves do not show any respect towards their women, forcing them into sex and so on - what could possibly be done by us?
