Who would have believed that the most powerful nation on earth would contemplate having Donald Trump as President.

Another of Everald's lightweight analyses. This one tells us only about people Everald doesn't like, people he labels "nutter",
"bore", "a dangerous born again Christian" and so on.

Trump, according to Everald, "has no ability whatsoever to become President of the United States". Perhaps. But he has had sufficient ability to become a billionaire, so he has some skills and is, as Everald says, "a very cunning promoter of himself." Seems like a good start for a presidential candidate.

Instead, Everald predicts Hillary Clinton will become president, which is odd considering that she would appear to be criminally stupid in sending top secret information on unsecured email servers and may yet face charges.

And her opponent for the presidency, whoever it might be, must be delighted that her culpability for the Benghazi catastrophe has barely been mentioned in the campaign so far.

I'd have thought that these matters would indicate that she "has no ability to become President of the United States". But, of course, there are many other issues for which the Clintons should be scrutinised, including their off-shore fund-raising.

"Be this as it may, we can be sure that there is yet time for another nutter to appear in her place."

Everard Compton himself is my idea of a "nutter" (his own description of perfectly normal people whose views he doesn't like). Perhaps he is thinking about 'standing'. Why do we have to be subjected to the rantings of a senile 85 year old?

As for Trump - of no concern to us or this old fool, Compton - he must be like a breath of fresh air to Americans after the Islamo/Communist, Obama.

When, oh when, are we going to get a political candidate who will follow the sort of simple, prudent, well-thought policies that the people want?

A simple four point plan would be as follows:

1. Treble Government expenditure.

2. Abolish ALL taxation, with any deficiency in finances being made up from the sale of politicians' assets.

3. Balance the budget.

4. Pay off the national debt.

Any candidate who can prove that he can and will do this would be sure of election.

In a nation that has the very best democracy money can buy. Trump just hasn't got enough money, nor are there enough people who share his loony tune ideas for him to ever become president?

On second thoughts, perfectly intelligent Germans voted Herr Hitler into office, and on the back of populous catch phrases and blatant racism.

I don't know who Trump would nuke first, those pesky south americans, you know the one who do all the harvesting for the yanks and look after their kids Or ISIS.

For mine he's just a little bit too right wing, as for his wealth. He's always been master at using people who are smarter than he is.

Come election time however, it will be America's turn to say, you're fired!

The same fools in Fairfax who say Abbott is to old and should go are backing Hilary. She is far more extreme than Trump.

For heavens sake Everald, the US currently has it's worst ever president right now. About the only thing worse would be to follow this most useless of people, with a proven liar & incompetent in Hillary.

Trump may not be the best choice of president, but he is by far he best choice from those likely to have any chance of election.

Of course we can't talk. We were stupid enough to elect Rudd, then Gillard, [well sort of elected Gillard], & now we have a Rudd look alike in Turnbull.

Electing Turnbull here would be about as stupid as the yanks electing Hillary. That both may happed is proof that western civilisation is in it's "mobs of Rome" stage, & will shortly collapse.

With what it has become in the handout welfare state era, that is not all that bad a thing.
