Oppose ISIS, but don't credit anonymous : Comments

By Mal Fletcher, published 11/12/2015

In our desire to overcome the threat of ISIS, we should think twice about giving recognition and credibility to groups like Anonymous who do not play by any rules but their own.

Mal as someone who works in IT, I'm far more worried about government sponsored hacking then I am of a bunch of Teenagers.

So we face three gloomy prospects:

1. Daesh - the terror of old style direct violence.
2. Anonymous - the terror of digitally-inflicted violence.
3. The 1984-style digital world created by the proliferation of digital devices, which the author is looking forward to.

If I am forced to choose the least among those three evils, then I would reluctantly select the first - Daesh.

The feckless Oz media are not known for exercising discretion and judgement. The media can be expected to sensationalise and that has already occurred where Anonymous is concerned.

In an environment where male youths in particular are disillusioned in Australia (led by sectors of the media and cynical politicians) and they do not have outlets for risk-taking and to expend energy, outfits like Anonymous can be seen as exciting, challenging and a mission for the greater good of humankind.

The better way of ensuring that male youth are not attracted to some of the potential and real threats that abound online is to ensure that throughout their development and schooling they are encouraged to stretch themselves through outdoors and community/social activities as offered by, for example, the well-tested Scouting movement. At least by the Scouting Movement that was in the past, where challenges were of substance. Some schools operated working farms where all students spent some weeks and not all in comfort. Similarly, the Cadet Corps once provided a total break with the tedium and developed skills and character.

Where there is constant criticism of boys and boys do not have men as models worth following in education and public life there can be no surprise when some find their excitement, recognition and a home with gangs and other rule-breaking, likely law-breaking groups.

Anonymous are spot on. ISIS is an off shoot of Al Qaeda created by the CIA and Mossad. It was Zibigniew Brezinski who met with Osama Bin Laden ( Tim Osman )in the early 1980's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJTv2nFjMBk Al Queda was being used by the Western Oligarchs to weaken Russia. Russia was though to be broken when a Rothschild Central Bank controlled them. Putin in 2012 took control of his central bank and nationalised his energy. This is why the Western Oligarchs want war with Russia and China. Russia and China don't want their New World Order of fascism.

Russia has photographic evidence of ISIS tankers taking Syrian oil to Turkey. Who is financing ISIS. Turkey is a member of NATO.

Never fear, the world of internet things is a business as usual era
system and in the coming real world even the basic internet will be
under threat.

The application of all those devices the author predicts will not be
fully developed because the economy will have other priorities.
They are making a start on the internet of things but the incentive
for them will dry up.

Once contraction sets in many blue sky projects will wither on the vine.

If "anonymous" are as good as they "purport" to be how about joining with agencies (around the world) "against terrorism" and free-trade knowledge.

Won't happen -so don't believe they looking after the safe-keeping of "world" population against terrorism.

Have seen documentaries about them - smoke and no fire.
