A letter to the new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull : Comments

By Tristan Ewins, published 17/9/2015

Hopefully under your leadership the Liberals will now remain within their mandate. No cuts to education, no changes to pensions, no cuts to the ABC and SBS.

More money for ABC and SBS is essential. Even if they have more worldly views than the rump of OLO blokedom.

There should be fewer British dramas and docos on ABC and SBS even if they can be bought more cheaply. More Australian content, like the super Mad as Hell and awesome Utopia, what!

Dear Tristian, I wish you had of written this letter to K Rudd back in 07 as we had money to burn, a booming economy and no debt. All he and his crusaders managed to do was waste what money we did have, criticize the miners for taking risks and being untra successful, and preside over, along with Julia Gillard, monumental stuff ups on multiple occasions.

Of cause the labor lovers blame the GFC and use that as their excuse to almost everything.

So what you are now wanting is for vast policy changes, but the one thing that remains the same is our debt and the fact that we are spending more than we are earning.

How on earth can a change of leader fix this I ask?

After all said and done, Malcom Turnbul, although a very successful man in his own right, is still just a man. A man with one hand tied behind his back finavially yet is still expected to fund the likes of Gonski, the NDIS, NBN, as well as fund the fall out from Rudds illegals debacle, plus, he now has an additional 12000 mouths to feed, which by the way will cost much more than it would to fund 12000 retire's most of which have worked and paid taxes, if history is anything to go by.

And of cause you want this wish list without charging students for degrees, of cuts to the likes of the ABC.

Good Lucy Tristian, you're about eight years too late mate.

In all conscience how can you not cut the money to the ABC and use it for such as Syrian refugees. The media in Australia would go on, the economy would be unaffected and half a billion would feed them all. Begging for more for the ABC is plain greed and cultural arrogance.

You definitely come from a different planet to me, Tristram.

You say that you want a non discriminatory immigration policy at the same time that you demand a return of your civil liberties. I find it just amazing that you are unable to make the connection that if you import people into this country who's religion demands that it's followers should use violence and terrorism to force everybody to become Muslims, that you are going to have to reduce civil liberties to prevent it.

And as a Socialist humanitarian, you know that hardly anybody would purchase media which promotes your Socialist fringe group worldview. So you want the Aussie taxpayers to continue to fund "your" ABC and SBS propaganda media. A government committed to forcing the ABC to at least make some attempt to fulfil it's founding charter to be unbiased is one you label "bullying." Sure Tristan. The only people who believe that have the same fringe group mentality that you have.

And you don't like 'austerity" either. I don't like it myself, Tristan. But I know that I can't spend money that I do not have. And I can't borrow it forever like the Greeks thought they could to maintain my lifestyle. Either we balance the budget, or we do not, and we go broke. Of course, if you want the middle classes to make more money so that you and your Socialist friends can tax them to death to buy votes, perhaps you could ask your Green friends to stop blocking every proposal for economic development?

As for "climate change", the whole thing is beginning to look like another Socialist con job to scare taxpayers into stumping up more money to create new government departments, as well as funding junkets for pollies and bureaucrats to go to Brussels to occasionally listen to stirring speeches on saving the world, while they enjoy the shopping on their bloated salaries and perks.
