Well I guess that Bin Ladin may yet win. This afterall is the aim of terrorists - to destabalise governments by destabalising the governments powerbase , the people.

Than you Ken. This is one of the best articles that OLO has published in a long while. The question to be addressed now is: what are we as a people going to do to reverse this seemingly endless process?

We have seen in the USA via the NDAA the effective elimination of Habeas corpus and with it the cornerstone of liberty since 1215. The UK is going down a similar path with the introduction of secret trials with secret evidence. I do not think that Australian politicians are immune from the temptations to ever-expanding power.

A supine main stream media is not going to fight for our liberties. They are largely owned and/or controlled by the same corporations that benefit from this endless "war". Never has Eisenhower's warning been so relevant. I genuinely fear for our future as a democratic nation.

Obama’s Kill List/Drone War began under the Bush regime as a rationale for murdering suspect citizens of countries with which the US was not at war. The expanded scope of the list to include the execution, without due process of law, of US citizens, without evidence presented in court has shifted from terrorists to “domestic extremists.”

A domestic extremist will be all who disagree with Washington. They also are headed for the Kill List.

The outcome will eventuate where everyone disliked or distrusted by those who have the power to add to the Kill List will find themselves on the list. Clearly, the American public lacks sufficient comprehension to remain a free people. All indications show the large majority of Americans are oblivious to their government’s acquisition of dictatorial powers over them–powers that allow government to place itself above the law and to be unaccountable to law.

When will the American public wake up? Will Australian’s be in the same place in ten years?

Most western people today are insouciant people. They are unaware. They are more concerned with AFL/Rugby League, retails sales, and the main stream media induced lives of celebrities, unaware that concurrently their liberty is being eroded at every corner.

Politicians are busy creating police states, primarily as I see it, because the average Joe and Jane lack the intelligence, education, and awareness to stop this activity occurring.

The US Congress has accepted the police state and has given up too much of its power to the executive branch and is too beholden to the special interests.

The only legacy from the 9/11 ‘incident’ is the destruction of truth and the law.

The western world have swallowed the US government’s preposterous story that a few Saudi Arabians, unsupported by any government or intelligence agency, outwitted every institution of the National Security State and inflicted the most humiliating blow against a superpower in human history. They buy into this story despite unequivocal evidence that WTC building 7 came down at free fall speed, an event that can only occur as a result of controlled demolition.

Finally OLO is addressing the most serious problem facing the world: the rise and rise of the warmongering U.S. as it seeks world domination.

Of course, Australia, like the U.K., is another mindless 'enabler nation!' It serially suckholes to the U.S., gives it access for drone bases, gives it bases for its troops, airfields for its huge airforce, harbours for its flotillas of warships, gives it land for its spying technology, etc, and warmly applauds everything it does regardless of the fact that it has killed millions since 1945.

For the U.S., the name 'War On Terror' gives it an excuse to invade and occupy its way across the whole world. It's 'either you're for us or against us' slogan has put fear into many nations of the world and forced other nations to expand their armies.

The attempt by the U.S. to dominate the world will cause a nuclear war, one that could end our world. The greed of the U.S. for both total power and major access to the world's resources drives it on and blinds it to the reality that it is bringing about its own demise.

Fortunately, Russia and China provide a counterbalance to U.S. Imperialism and we are lucky that they do. Even nations like North Korea and Pakistan help to make the U.S. think twice.

Of course, the key lies in Iran. The U.S., pushed by Israel, may attack Iran thinking it can drop a few nukes and the war will be over. Such a view is infantile as is the notion that a nation with 6% of the world's population can control the world.

Once the first nukes are dropped it won't be like in Japan. The dominoes will start falling and it'll be 'all over Red Rover!'

Fight against U.S. Imperialism today if you want your children and grandchildren to have a future.

Zibigneiw Brezezinski and the neo cons said before 911 that they needed a new Pearl Harbour. His words," What we need is a truely massive and widely perceived direct external threat." That threat was terrorism to keep we the people, afraid and subjugated.

http://www.ae911truth.org/ Over 1700 Architects and Engineers are asking for a new investigation into 911.3 buildings fell that day and WTC7 which no plane impacted also fell at near freefall speeds which is impossible unless they were all controlled demolition.

How did a few terrorists circumvent the most powerful and sophistocated military machine on the planet? How were they able to plant tonnes of explosives in all 3 towers without US authorities knowing? Why were there so many put options on United Airways before the actual event happened? Why did Larry Silverstein buy the leases on the Towers just weeks before 911 and insure each separately for a terrorist attack? Larry made $ billions from few hundred million. The anomalies go on and on.

The biggest cover up of the truth comes from our incredulity that our Govts would never lie to us.

The war on terror is big business and the businesses that make money from war are the first to bemoan cuts to defence or national security spending. The never-ending Surveillance based Bills coming out of the US and Australia highlights another growing industry.

There was an article recently arguing that the overuse of antibiotics is a far greater threat to world security than terrorism but you can bet this simple fact won't see a corresponding increase in funding.

Corporate interests and influence on governments, as borne out by the illegal invasion of Iraq ie. use of false intelligence, and self-interested foreign policy is much more a threat than a natural threat of terror. One feeds the other.

America's CIA has become another wing of the military undergoing covert ops and interfering in the affairs of other nations purely for economic interests. The lack of morality and ethics is startling and all wrapped up in the flag of patriotism. I am not just picking on the US, China is up there with their expansionist policies and already pushing ground in international waters.

The best deterrent for terrorism is fair foreign and economic policies.

one way that America will come to its senses in this never ending war on terror is when it starts sending its drones to kill American citizens perceived to be 'enemies' on American soil and causing catastrophic collateral damage, not 10 civilians for every terrorist but maybe 100 or 1000 and other articulate Americans will start to take notice and do something about it before all their freedoms have been denied them in their war to secure their security. Can a nation as powerful as the USA bear that cost and pay such a price?

Looking through the comments thus far reveals that few people are alarmed or upset by the American grab for power.

It is tribute to American cunning that they can engage in continuous imperialism and nobody seems to be in the least angered or afraid.

If people bothered to find out what America is doing to its own citizens and realized that that's what they'd do to everyone if they ever achieved world domination then some might be stung into action.

Australia has been flooded with American propaganda. Our politicians are American sycophants. America is moving into our country, gaining ever more privileges, more bases, more footholds, more power.

Read Information Clearing House for articles written by intelligent people including Americans who are wise to American hegemonic aims and ambitions. The Australian media is an arm of the American MSM!

Wake up, Australia. Take your country back while you can!

Dear David G.,

<<Looking through the comments thus far reveals that few people are alarmed or upset by the American grab for power.>>

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

We are a small fish in the pond and if the alternative is to be eaten by the Chinese for breakfast... or would living under Sharia law be any better?

If at least we had some nuclear weapons, then we could be looked at differently and needn't beg the USA for protection, but I think I'll be leaving this world earlier.

The only Colonial power left is China, it invaded Tibet, commenced acts of Genocide and in traditional manner starts settling Hans. They are doing much the same in their far west. Rants about the US are just persistent immaturity.

Do a comparison, 4 students shot at uni in Ohio decades ago V's thousands run over by tanks in and about Tianamin Square.

I am not sure why you are defending China? Surely an illegal invasion of Tibet should not be sanctioned, nor increasing tensions towards Japan and Taiwan over territorial matters.

The US is the worst offender of other people's rights but China and other nations who do similar (either via economic or military might) don't get a free pass just because there is an even greater offender.

Pelican we have have to keep a balance of power on the planet.Currently the West owned by he Banking Military Industrial complex has far too much power.Their "New World Order" will be a nightmare for all people on this planet.

Henry Kissenger,John Holdren (Obama's head of science)Maurice Stong( ex secretary of the UN) and many others wnat to reduce the world's pop by 90%.We won't have a vote in their New World Order just like we are not having a say in the UN's Agenda 21 which wants to strip us of all property rights or any real control over our country.Look how this Agenda 21 under the lie of sustainability is killing our farmers. This is affecting our food security.

China may not be a beacon of freedom but their Govt via Govt Banks creates 80% of their new money either debt free or as a tax credit while we in the West are slaves to a private creation debt money system. This is why China can have 9-12% growth.

The more growth we have in the West, the more debt we incur.

Somewhat crude, but Socialist countries are very adept at burying the evidence and yes, no doubt some of it was lead poisoning. More obscuration and support for such governments again; reminds me of the Lefty outrage about suggesting Pol Pot had a popularity problem.

China is a murderous Coloniser and apparently has your support, Government imposed starvation in in N Korea is only possible because of subsidies of the Elite from China.

Australia is flooded by facile Educational / Union / Bureaucrat complex propaganda which needs to be held up to the derision it deserves.

>>Thousands run over by tanks, MacKackie?

Why don't you get a life?<<

Really David? According to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Square_protests_of_1989

>>The crackdown initiated on June 3–4 became known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre or the June 4 Massacre as troops with assault rifles and tanks inflicted thousands of casualties on unarmed civilians.<<

So either
A) McCackie, wikipedia, me and lot of other people besides are wrong and you are right: the Tiananmen Square Massacre never took place. It was all faked by the US Government - filmed on the very same soundstage they used to film the 'moon landings'. The Chinese Government never murdered thousands of its own citizens with tanks because they are nice people and would never do anything like that.
B) You're making up fanciful stories when the known facts don't support your 'America is the Great Satan' fanaticism. Again. You might want to make up fanciful stories that aren't so easy to fact-check.

Which of those seems more likely to you? I'm leaning heavily towards B - A seems rather far-fetched to me.

Cheers,

Tony

Tony, I queried the statement by MacKackie that tanks had run over thousands of people.

Few will query the statement that the Yanks have killed millions since 1945 in their quest for world domination and control.

Obviously you are an avid supporter of American imperialism. You probably approved of their genocide of the Native Indians too, their introduction of slavery.

I'm sure you get excited about their military bases pocking the world, their huge army, their tactics like rendition, torture, Gitmo, lying, talking about peace while they wage endless war, their greed, their use of depleted uranium and phosphorous munitions and drones.

And most likely you get orgasmic when you think of how the U.S. has supported Israel in its tyranny over the Palestinians and you can't wait for the Yanks to nuke Iran.

Why do you choose to target China when the U.S. is clearly the world's No1 enemy?

I think George Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning as to what could happen It seems that some governments are using it as a textbook and we need to become like the animals in the last part of his book Animal Farm.
