Sadly much of what Lego says is correct.
I heard the current problems in Italy and Europe referred to as an invasion. It is pretty difficult to deny that. Next weeks ABC Landline has an item about food shortages and the risk of millions of food refugees going in all directions. Posted by Bazz, Monday, 13 June 2011 2:47:10 PM

I don't know if anyone else saw the excellent documentary on Louisiana based novelist James Lee Burke which was shown on the ABC recently.
Burke made some astute observations on Black/White relations in the American South. Basically it's the psychological makeup of most White people to be accepting and trusting of people from other races on a one to one basis, but it's impossible to get them to accept the presence of others as a significant group within society. He pointed out that Whites will hire Black or Mexican women as live in cooks and Nannies, they'll leave their precious Children in their care, even say that they regard. them as more trustworthy than Whites. Yet, as soon as the proportion of non Whites in the community exceeded a certain number (30% seems usual) they began to be concerned , demand racial segregation and eventually relocate in what's termed "White Flight". His ideas are borne out in countless examples in that country and across the traditionally White world, we're now seeing "White Flight" from "migrant" areas of Sydney and Melbourne. Inner city White trendies, for all their "Free the refugees" posturing don't send their kids to Fitzroy primary or Debney Park secondary schools, they just don't. Estimates vary but Australia is supposedly still around 85% White, when the numbers of my race drop below 70%(or rather if, there is no certainty in this scenario)then I'd expect to see White people of means emigrating to other parts of the world. There will come a time, if things continue in this fashion where someone will send out the call for White settlers, just like they did in the past, and just as our ancestors did we'll embark in our millions to the next "New World". The politicians have to decide whether they want a stable White majority population driving this country forward and maintaining a reasonable standard of living for all or a dwindling White economic elite overseeing a crumbling "Rainbow Nation" of sullen, disenfranchised people. I think all races have an inbuilt tendency for racism.
The Japanese are a classic example, look at the way they treat Koreans. Immigration is just not allowed in Japan. The Chinese are much more racist, as they are from the "Central Kingdom". Their history is much to blame for that. What happens if you put a herd of Friesands and a herd of Jerseys in the same paddock ? Posted by Bazz, Monday, 13 June 2011 4:10:39 PM

Bazz....what do you mean sadly?..LEGO is spot on with the evaluation. Its a bad investment in any one's language. To import damaged goods is asking for trouble. More of what i said, is on another thread, so I wont go any further.

Bazz....what do you mean sadly?. Well it is sad that we do have these problems but I believe it is the nature of the beast and that we should take it into account. My wife used to live in an area that is now a ghetto and we drove through there recently and it now looks like a scungy Arab Quarter. Sorry if that offends anyone, but thats it. When police forces have to install "Middle Eastern Squads" that speaks for itself. They catch the Middle Eastern car thiefs by parking on the roads leading to the area and wait for them to pass with the stolen to order cars on tow trucks. They are that predictable. I love how Obama calls his policy of more-more-more "reform".
A real "reform" of immigration would be less-less-less. Less in quantity. Less in duration (occasional breaks to allow equilibrium to develop) And less in range (i.e. ethnic continuum) Multicultural societies only work when there are fundamental commonalities amongst the cultures (e.g. Canada's French and British, Switzerland's German, Italian and French ancestries; all Caucasoid, Indo-European and Christian histories). Where a fundamental divergence occurs in a sizable population (e.g. Muslims in Yugoslavia) failure is almost inevitable. Problem is, no politician will touch an ethnically sensible policy these days. That makes you a "Nazi" apparently. Difference is "Nazi" policy was aggressive. "White Australia" was defensive. They are not comparable. But try telling that to the anti-racist crowd. Bazz, I must say I know that your saying. I love Sydney to death. George st I walked many times 2/3 o'clock in the mornings without a scrape of trouble anywhere, and its still the same. Pat Condell speaks for me most of the time, and if any over-sea visitors came to trash our Country I think I know how he feels.
Here's Pat and read some of the comments under the link, I might even put one there myself:) http://richarddawkins.net/videos/490279-the-enemy-within Cheer's Posted by Quantumleap, Monday, 13 June 2011 6:56:38 PM

@Quantamleap.
Be wary of single issue activists like Pat Condell, Islam isn't really part of the problem and the "conservatives" promoting "assimilation" are in general as fanatically Anti White as the Genocidal Marxists. Communists on the Left and Communists on the right, the choices on offer are one race under God, or one race under Marx. These people never speak the truth and they always use this kind of code or shorthand, take "Diversity" as an example, we're no more a "diverse" society than we ever were, in fact in terms of real, meaningful concepts like, political thought, musical, literary and artistic output we've gone from "punching above our weight' to a laughingstock among our peers. What's Left out of the Immigration debate is the way it's actually led, believe it or not, to a lack of diversity in our communities. The Anti Whites will laud the fact that a town or suburb has lost it's Anglo dominated shopping precinct but, as is the case in many suburbs the fact that retail is now dominated by Vietnamese or Indians doesn't seem to concern them. Examples. High St Preston, Victoria St Richmond and Barkly St Footscray, old White ,working class areas are not diverse shopping precincts, they're Vietnamese with a sprinkling of other businesses. When the face behind every convenience store and petrol station counter in a given suburb is Indian, when every strip mall or shopping court has the same range of shops (Noodles, Kebabs, Charcoal Chicken, $2 shops and chain stores).... I'm afraid that's not diversity, it's standardisation. I really don't have the time to sit here providing examples of why the Emperor has no clothes but the whole "diversity" thing is a sham, Leftists and respectable Conservatives agree on one thing, that everyone should be "assimilated", everything standardised into the commercialised, Westfield styled experience of "diversity". Jo do me a favor and correct all the typos, spelling mistakes etc in your article. One expects better from a so-called academic.

And just some more thoughts from other counties. Jay. Once Multiculturalism has been released, who ever is the strongest business builder, will have the monopoly. China Town is a very strong business center, along with many others and this makes the Australian Government very happy indeed. The boat people and the Immigration polices in place, not only are there over-population concerns with unemployment and mental illness to contend with, its the lack of qualified personal which how will they contribute?

Why you might say, cause we are all human. Jane Goodall said it perfectly when describing the behaviorism's of chimpanzees.......and we are no different. We are still a species......and behaviors are textbook. LEA Posted by Quantumleap, Tuesday, 14 June 2011 7:19:38 PM

Nice article by Jo Coghlan. But should "million" be "billion" in this second sentence?:
In terms of labour migration, the Gillard government has focused on 'Big Australia': a version of populate or perish that accepts Australian's aren't having enough children so we should increase our population with migrant labour. The 2011 federal budget costed administration, infrastructure and sustainability for this measure alone at over $1.17 million Livio Posted by Livio, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 10:58:03 AM

Jo
I enjoyed a previous article of yours but this one less so because it implies that only those wanting a free flow of migrants into a country are on the side of the angels. Consider the fact that the African-American population in the US has been disadvantaged by the arrival of so many Latino immigrants (both legal and illegal) who have pushed them out of jobs and pushed down wages. You also ignore the impact on population growth that large scale immigration brings, particularly in the US where Latino immigrants continue to have large families into the second and third generations (unlike migrants to Australia who settle to the Australian norm in terms of family size by the second generation). Bigger populations are causing congestion, pollution and loss of biodiversity through reduction of habitat in both the US and Australia. Both countries can be deemed to be overpopulated from a natural resources/biodiversity point of view. Much as I love President Obama, I think he's got it wrong on immigration. I once loved Julia Gillard for her comments on Australia "not hurtling towards a big Australia" but that's exactly what is happening because the so-called Minister for Sustainable Population either hasn't got enough clout to push for genuine sustainability or doesn't appreciate what it's all about. You can't have sustainability with an ever-growing population, especially as we try and curb our greenhouse gas emissions and meet international targets. Yes Jo should have said billions.
She should now be sacked from her job as that is the standard that was set for Barnaby Joyce for making that mistake. Don't worry popnperish, as growth stops and turns into contraction immigration will come to a grinding halt. The only likelihood that there will be an increase will be if famine sets in in a big way and fleets of boats and ships come our way. Next Sunday's Landline will have an item about the food supply decline. BTW, the Bunderwach (German Army) has completed its study of peak oil and has been published in German. An English version will be out soon. Extracts are on the Energy Bulletin at present. They are not optimistic at all about the effect on the economy. Posted by Bazz, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 4:14:56 PM

Any farmer will tell you good fences make for good neighbours.
Control who is using the pastures and you will retain the pastures. Drop the fence and all the fences fall in succession. Hardin's essay is a reasonable example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commons Posted by Dicko, Monday, 20 June 2011 7:53:32 PM

There are now so many Hispanics in the USA, that the former Mexican president proposed that all US hispanics should be given dual citizenship with Mexico as a peacefull way for Mexico to "reconquer" the US. He only backed off when the US pointed out that such a scheme amounted to an act of war.
Multiculturalism is exctly like Socialism.. How many times does it need to fail before the "intelligent" Artz grad caste figure out that it is a bad idea? Like Socialism, multiculturalism is failing everywhere. It failed in France, Britain, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, and even the super tolerant Dutch are starting to feel like Christian Scientists with appendicitus.
Just about every strife torn country in the world where they are all happily killing themselves is a multicultural sheetfight.
Importing poverty stricken people who hail from violent cultures is a recipe for disaster. Sydney today has become the Chicago of the Pacific, and most of the drug trafficking and handgun murders occur within the boundaries of the ghettoes noted for their high incidence of certain welfare dependent and crime prone immigrant groups.
It is not in the interests of the Australian people for this situation to continue.
