I would believe that Pilger would source his fabrications from that type of misinformation.

The lie which drew Pilger to my attention was in relation to the non existent “Battle of Patonga” where he said the Dhurag warriors fought the white settlers, in the 1790s.

The tribe was the Dharug, not the Dhurag, and there were no white settlers on the sand spit, that is Patonga, until about 1920, when it was subdivided for holiday homes .
