Yes, jealousy is a cause of ignorance. For example on topic here, there are editors critical of Facebook because it's linked to a massive readership downturn in reading dumbed down 'news' and editorial comment in print media.

Now accused as the master manipulator of democratic elections, and roundly praised at a Senate inquiry, not interested at all in the facts.
