We need to find an acceptable formula to resettle or repatriate these folk in a more timely and humane manner.
I've lived in tents and camped out for years; and had to rely on vastly more primitive amenities, and can attest, there are vastly worse outcomes!
That said given my druthers, I'd turn Nauru inside out and upside down, in a completely covert special forces exercise, hunting for, finding and identifying beyond any reasonable doubt (absolutely doable) the rapist that impregnated that poor desperate woman and castrate him as the only visible justice and a salutary lesson for him and any like minded animals!
And better use of them than invading the Tampa, packed with innocent women and children?
In retrospect, the vastly more humane Malaysia regional solution, looks very acceptable right now! And given it still breaks the people smugglers business model, ought to be revisited and renegotiated?
