Wouldn't it be the icing on the cake if we trained some grey nomads with skills in Cert4 T&A and allowed them to teach these new and proud Australians some Aussie skills to enhance what they already have.

I do not agree with the author, these people do not deserve our help. They have imposed themselves on us, taking advantage of our generosity and they got here by bribery and corruption. They are in fact gate crashers and should be seen as such.

The tougher we make it for them the sooner we will be rid of them, but they are good at playing the victim and the bleeding hearts lap it up. No wonder people get conned.

There are plenty of Aussies that need our help before even considering these shonky illegals.

I've always thought we should require any GENUINE refugees accepted here legitimately, via the proper or recognized channels; to be required to settle in rural/semi rural Australia!
But particularly where their skills or knowledge may be more than useful, and their numbers needed to just keep a currently dying rural or regional town/schools and essential govt services, alive and kicking/or provided!

What on earth is Social Ecology, some sort of fairy floss dreamed up in our ivory towers I guess. I suppose we have to have something our bleeding hearts cam get their PhD in.

Love I suggest that rather than organise holidays for dole bludging gate crashers, you put them out to work somewhere, & give the homes they are occupying to our homeless, or poorly housed families.

I suggest you keep quiet about this kind of ridiculous waste, or be prepared to be swamped in the backlash.

Isobel
Nice article. I have met some of the volunteers working with refugees in Dandenong, and they are inspirational.
