Dear Paul1405,
And now he has gone. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-08-03/stuart-ayres-resigns-over-john-barilaro-new-york-appointment/101294730 Looks like Friendly Jordies expose has claimed another scalp. Changing Barilaro's interview assessment and misleading parliament seems to have been a step too far for even the Don. http://www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw/documents-reveal-selection-report-edited-to-make-barilaro-first-choice-for-trade-job-20220801-p5b65c.html Dear Hasbeen, My goodness mate, for a supporter of someone as distasteful as the pussy grabbing, whoremongering, orange buffoon you really can't be that choosy. Yet here you are dismissing all the evident corruption and misuse of ministerial power because you don't like Friendly Jordies. How idiotic. https://www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw/documents-reveal-selection-report-edited-to-make-barilaro-first-choice-for-trade-job-20220801-p5b65c.html Posted by SteeleRedux, Wednesday, 3 August 2022 9:57:04 AM

Dear Foxy,
Indeed. It is one thing to make use of the old boys network and a privileged education etc, but to have your interview scores inflated and those of the competition lessened well after the fact speaks to a whole other aspect of quite frankly in my opinion of corruption. It is little wonder divides in this country are becoming further entrenched. Posted by SteeleRedux, Wednesday, 3 August 2022 10:03:26 AM

Dear Steele,
I always though of myself as a centrist in politics. I now find myself veering towards the left. I found the previous government almost unparalleled in its incompetence. and corruption. They deserved to be kicked out. They also deserve the damning verdict of history. My parents were conservatives. They always voted Liberal and brought me up to vote Liberal as well. It was after travelling in the US and having lived and worked there that I began to question things. I've become more political as I've grown older. It's the injustice of things that infuriates me. I believe that people - especially politicians have to face up to the moral implications of their actions. Hopefully things will change with this newly elected government. The conga line of NSW Coalition members heading to the NSW ICAC is getting longer by the day. Move over Eddie, make room for the new boys and girls.

It seems even the Barilaro's application letter resplendent with spelling mistakes and below average grammar.
It seems he probably knew he was going to bag the role anyway. http://www.afr.com/rear-window/revealed-john-barilaro-s-application-letter-for-new-york-trade-job-20220801-p5b6c2 What a mess with Dominic backing him all the way now paying the price. Typical Liberal Party response so often employed by Scomo and his crowd of reprobates. Double down and deny everything. Luckily they have been caught out this time but more by chance unfortunately. Ayres who initially claimed the Barilaro appointment was all done at arms length as far as his involvement was concerned, now concedes that might not be correct, saying; "If the [Graham] Head review shows that I have not done the right thing, then I don't think my position would be tenable but I don't believe that's the case."
This looks like another case for the NSW ICAC.
