In the last week the Coalition has managed to hike the price of a loaf of bread by 20%, not to mention all the other cost of living increases, no worries with the Coalition policy of no real wage increase and a trillion dollar debt to be repaid. In a year they have added $80 to $100 to the cost of fuel per month for the average family. They doing well shonky!

So, some insipid mutts think that despite bush fires, floods & pandemic & add to this those silly mutts who, along with their opposition supporting bureaudroids sabotage Govt at every turn, think the show can go on without trying to re-fill the coffers ?

On a lighter note....
When I first saw the title of this article, I had to bite my mental tongue.
That was to stop myself from making some fatuous, and perhaps inappropriate, comment.
I switched my mind to Tv advertisements instead.

Hi IF,

Great to hear.

I do that all the time.

I'd probably get kicked off - if I posted my
first thoughts.

Anyhoo - back to the topic.

It's going to be hard to predict this election.
Even harder for me - who to choose to vote for.
Morrison is a great campaigner and it looks
like Albanese will be tested by attacks in all
directions.

Predicting a national trend is going to be difficult.
The pandemic seems to have given priority to state
authority and local identity. There appears to be no
uniform swing. It looks like being a seat by seat battle
where everything will turn on a few electorates and
candidates.

I find the seat of Wenworth interesting where Dave Sharma
is being challenged by Independent - Allegra Spender.
Daughter of the much loved fashion icon - Carla Zampatti.
An interesting challenger.

In the safe seat of Menzies - The Green candidate - Bill
Pheasant is stirring up some waters. Again another interesting
challenger.

Too hard to predict the end results.

I received the first electioneering circular from the local MP (Labor) today. Lots of bribes but NOTHING about China or national defence.

ttbn,

I also received a flyer from the Liberal candidate.
The same - nothing about either China or national defence.
Almost word for word from Labor's brochure.

Not much difference between the two.

Morrison's confected "daggy dad" or "ordinary bloke" cap-wearing
image that helped him win the last time has now changed into
" Scotty from marketing." And Morrison has now got to convince
people to once more believe in his authenticity.

This is what happens in politics I guess. Somebody's strengths
can end up becoming their weaknesses.

On the other hand - as far as Albanese is concerned - he's got
to convince voters he would make a better PM than Morrison.
Armed with a small-target strategy of jobs, aged care, medicare,
et cetera, and a personal re-brand that's been dubbed the
Albanese "glow up"- the question is - Can he inspire enough
voters?

We'll have to wait and see.

Isn't comparing the pair fun?
