Whatever is done, jobs will be lost and jobs will be gained. The biggest destroyer of jobs in recent years wasn't anything to do with regulations; it was our overvalued dollar in the Gillard and Abbott era.
Mining has already started switching to solar power, and heavy manufacturing will soon do the same. Agriculture too can be done sustainably.

What the geology shows is that previous episodes of climate change this fast have only occurred in mass extinction events.
