Well the right to private property free from arbitrary confiscation by government is fundamental to western democracy.

The notion that a person's property can be stolen by the government for merely holding "inappropriate views" is the opposite of a liberal democracy. Government working hand-in-hand with business to suppress descent is the very essence of fascism.

It was a dark time for Canada and, since other democratic leaders sat quietly by, for western liberalism in general.

It'll be interesting to follow the US version of the freedom convoy and see how the US government reacts.
