Inflation is at a 40yr high and is a huge issue now in the US and is certain to be an issue at the midterm elections. The reporter's question was anything but stupid but was a leading question for comment by Biden on the problem and his plans to tackle it.

Biden's vulgarity was due to his reluctance to answer the question.
