shadow minister,
Biden's approval rating stands at about 43% which is a number Donald Trump did not reach for the\ vast majority of his presidency. George W. Bush spent most of his term below 40% and Barack Obama was in his 40s most of his tenure. These numbers for the US appear to be in the neighbourhood of the new political normal. As for Biden's political future? From the Washington Post and other sources it appears that many Democrats assumed that Biden was a one-term president, given his age. It's difficult to assess whether he will run again or who his replacement might be if there is one. Many Republicans still support Trump. But again it will be not who they may like, but who can win for them. And at this time - it's anyone's guess. We'll have to wait and watch what happens. I know if I was Biden I would bow out gracefully. Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 18 January 2022 2:01:30 PM

I'm sorry I don't understand your drive-by comment. You need to explain what you mean by that. Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 18 January 2022 2:20:38 PM

Biden’s rating is actually 33%, lower than Trump’s was when he left office. So what! You should be able to find enough to squabble about with your own politicians without going overseas.

No that's not correct.
According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll at the same time in Donald Trump's presidency about 39% of Americans approved of his performance in office while 56% disapproved. While the national poll conducted Jan 12-13 found that 45% of US adults approved of Biden's performance in office. 50% disapproved and the rest were not sure. Biden's approval numbers have hovered below 50% since August. The man needs to seriously reconsider running for office again. Either that or the Democrats need to look towards finding a replacement. But who? will be a challenge. Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 18 January 2022 3:05:16 PM

Foxy,
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/biden-approval-rating/ Only Trump and Ford (Ford was unelected) had lower ratings at this point than Biden with GW Bush at about 50% for the first 4 years. Biden's problems as I alluded to above are not likely to go away and Biden instead of trying to deal with them is pretending that they are either inconsequential or temporary. Secondly, if (or when) Biden loses both houses the Republicans are smarting from the abuses of the process by the Democrats and are eager to administer the same medicine to Biden as was given to Trump. The damage done by 2024 may well make the election of a Dem president nearly impossible. Posted by shadowminister, Wednesday, 19 January 2022 12:32:30 AM

So much clatrap about which head leads the monster. While the Americans are concerned with internal political nonsense, at least they are not out there murdering millions of innocent people, as per usual.

I get daily reports from "Students for Life" in America, and they put Biden / Harris Presidency as a complete failure, as does the Catholic Church on issues of protection of life.
http://www.theblaze.com/shows/the-rubin-report/dave-rubin-biden-gaffes?utm_medium=push&utm_source=pushnami There are reports of Hilary Clinton running again if Democrats fail the midterm. Though many of the standing Democrats will not survive the next election. Biden is becoming more incoherent in his speech as each day passes. Harris rates as the worst Vice President in American History, even Democrat Members are sppeaking out against them. Parents in America are removing their children from public schools Marxist agenda because of CRT indoctrination and gender fluidity teaching, as it is creating class difference and anxiety in children. However, anything can happen in Ameriica as they as a people are emotionally unstable and poorly educated in reasoning ability. I listen to Candice Owens in her reports as she deals with current subjects. http://open.spotify.com/show/5we95mDQhkGC1rrQnMHQ3T Posted by Josephus, Wednesday, 19 January 2022 11:37:30 AM

The world is two years into a pandemic which shows few signs of slowing. Few leaders are getting high popularity ratings - here's a comparison from the week 6-12 January 2022. (https://morningconsult.com/global-leader-approval/). Biden is in the middle of the pack, keeping in mind that Morrison's approval has now dropped below 40%.
Narendra Modi (India) 72% Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Mexico) 67% Mario Draghi (Italy) 59% Fumio Kishida (Japan) 51% Olaf Scholz (Germany) 47% Scott Morrison (Australia) 44% Joe Biden (United States) 43% Justin Trudeau (Canada) 43% Moon Jae-in (South Korea) 40% Jair Bolsonaro (Brazil) 37% Pedro Sánchez (Spain) 37% Emmanuel Macron (France) 35% Boris Johnson (United Kingdom) 34% Shadow Minister gave the following list of of Biden's alleged failings. Here are my comments: 1. the Afghanistan disaster - precipitated by Trumps' deal with the Taliban and his release of so many Taliban activists. 2. the broken promise to wipe out covid - every leader has claimed they wanted to or would wipe out covid, or that it wasn't a big deal, or that it would just go away. See 4 year's of Trump's statements and inaction. No-one has achieved this, so it's not specific to Biden. 3. the border crisis - well, if Trump's Wall had ever been built... 4. the rampant inflation and the surge in energy prices - not specific to the USA and not under Biden and Harris's control. All the problems Biden faces are either world-wide or were inherited from and/or aggravated Trump. And Biden has it far worse because of the blockage of any rational action by the Republicans in the Congress/Senate Posted by Cossomby, Wednesday, 19 January 2022 2:53:00 PM

Cossomby,
1 Afghanistan, With the full knowledge of what Trump did 1 year prior, this was still a cock up of monumental proportions that Biden tried to ignore. This will not be forgotten. 2 He didn't say he wanted to, he said he would wipe out the covid many many times. It is now worse than under Trump. 3 The numbers coming over the border has doubled or tripled and all the things Trump was criticised for have worsened. This is a huge stuff up. 4 The rampant inflation occurred under Biden's watch and can be fixed by cutting spending and or raising rates. Biden is trying to spend $trillions more and does bugger all about interest rates. 5 The oil and gas price rises are partially due to the restrictions on fracking and the cancellation of the pipeline doesn't help either. All the excuses you are making carry little water with the voters. The can stops with Biden Posted by shadowminister, Wednesday, 19 January 2022 3:24:50 PM

Trump just held a Rally where 15,000 supporters attended, Biden cannot rally his supporters to Rally.

Josephus, Trump's supporters have been and remain covid and/or vaccine deniers - their rallies become super-spreader events. Biden and his supporters have more sense. Biden - no rallies, wins election. Trump - crazy rallies, gold statues, loses election. The difference is a marker of intelligence.

Cossomby, you read too many nonsense magavines.
Vaccine supply began in Trump predidency. http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-renews-praise-covid-vaccines-one-greatest-achievements-mankind-n1286551 The former president has heavily endorsed the COVID-19 vaccine in recent weeks. In an OAN interview, he reiterated his stance and said he had no side effects from his booster. He also criticized politicians who were being vague about their booster-shot status. Former President Donald Trump endorsed COVID-19 vaccines again and criticized "gutless" politicians who wouldn't say if they'd been boosted. Posted by Josephus, Wednesday, 19 January 2022 7:02:18 PM

America Left in an emotional meltdown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtJvYdX4GKM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfwkBd23MJw The Left claim Trump won by fear and White Supremacy, but the Left are those fed fear of the Republican Right. Posted by Josephus, Thursday, 20 January 2022 8:31:19 AM

Why are you so concerned about American fascism? Trump, Clinton, Biden, all grubs, just one is a bit more grubby than the other two. SO WHAT! Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 20 January 2022 9:12:46 AM

I have no desire to see the brand of Chinese Communism inflicted on Australia, it may work for them, but totally unsuitable for Australia. In fact I don't support the raw concept of Communism at all, I consider myself to be a liberal/progressive with a leaning towards social justice, I do agree with the application of Socialism within society when needed, but that's hardly Communism. You have nothing to worry about from people like me. BUT that depends how extreme you are. Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 20 January 2022 3:15:02 PM

Chinese communism has only worked well for members of the CCP, for the vast majority of CCP members, life is harsh.

Biden's popularity drops to a new low with approval <42% and disapproval to > 53% This is now within 2% of Trump and looks like sinking lower shortly. Posted by shadowminister, Friday, 21 January 2022 10:34:23 AM

Paul,
can we hear more of "I consider myself to be a liberal/progressive with a leaning towards social justice, I do agree with the application of Socialism within society when needed " We would like to know what situations you would apply social justice. How would you apply socialism? Posted by Josephus, Friday, 21 January 2022 2:30:31 PM

Tiresome to type out what social justice means to me. Basically you can read up here, there's plenty on the net, and I think you understand the concept of Socialism. http://www.pachamama.org/social-justice/what-is-social-justice I've put up a bit about Bob Menzies, between the wars Menzies was a Liberal/Progressive by the standards of the day, and I admire him for that. However post war Menzies took on more of a Conservative outlook, that I believe was detrimental to Australia's post war development. I'm not ignorant of Menzies, having read much on him over decade's, the last, last year by former Liberal Minister David Kemp. Menzies is in the top three of the most interesting Australian politicians. Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 21 January 2022 6:32:16 PM

This year the US midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested.
The prediction is that the Republicans will hold significant majorities in both Congress and Senate making Biden a lame duck.
