Morrison Should Be Down In The Mouth

There is a photo above the latest Essential Poll of a very glum, square-mouthed PM. If you are soft of heart and head, you might even feel sorry for him. The media is adept at selecting a photo to compliment bad and sad stories, and the results of the Poll are certainly bad and sad for Morrison.

The Essential Poll on the Coalition confirms the hopeless primary vote of 36% shown by previous polls.

Deserves to be re-elected 36%

Time for someone else to have a go 41%

Dummy Don't Knows 23%

One analyst, trained in such things, takes this as indicative that virtually a third of those who voted Liberal at the last election are either "wobbly or gone".

NSW and QLD are the strongest supporters for change and, between them, they have more than half the seats in the house of reps.

Anything can happen in the now and then, but it's not a good look now for Morrison & Co.

Wait a minute. Doesn't the PM have to listen to the
dictates of the Party - after all they elected him?
Surely the responsibility for the stuff-ups has to
be shared?

Hi Foxy,

That would be correct in theory, but the leadership, particularly the leader, in this case Morrison, is the public face of government, and if things go pear shaped its the leader who is perceived as most at fault. At question time the government back benchers ask their "Dorothea Dix" questions in the form of; "My question is to the Prime Minister, will the Prime Minister tell the house, how the Morrison Government is, da, da, da.." Whose MORRISON you ask, simple answer, the bloke who COCKED UP!

There is still time for the Liberals to replace Morrison.

With whom?

Well, there's the rub. When you have a weak leader with no values, hardly ever saying anything, the underlings tend to follow suit, covering their own arses. They have seen what happens to anyone who goes against Morrison. (Craig Kelly, most recently).

So, maybe looking for a real leader is not possible, and they should just throw their skirts over their heads and prepare for a couple of terms in opposition sorting themselves out, getting the courage to stand up to the rotter who put them there. Albo as PM should help them realise how

important it is for them to get their act together.
