The reason Chinese society has existed for thousands of years is because it is a Patriarchal family State, and any dissenters are punished or disciplined. Currently its population is one Third of the World’s people and is the most productive and growing nation on the Planet.

Western societies have always strived for individual justice and the individuals right of self determination and freedom of thought. Because of the diversity allowed within the society they have imploded from within as is the case with America currently.

Western society functions on democracy [diversity] and justice for the individual but China sees this as a weakness. The State Nation is what must survive as a unit and must not have divided loyalties.
We think they are unjust toward discenting voices they see us as weak to the presevation of societys unity.

"Should we accept China as big Brother".

Well, of course not. What an awful question! We are in a mess because of multiculturalism and all sorts of Leftist ideas, but nothing could be worse than Chinese Communism. However, given the growing reliance by the majority of the Australian population on the local Big Brother, we seem to be heading for an authoritarian type of government without any help from China.

ttbn, The question is then should we check on voices and opponents to our national cultural values and discipline or destroy them so we survive as a unified cultured Nation?

Is by trying to be all things [multicultural] to all ideas we loose our identity and unity and so implode as Western Nations throughout history have done.

Josephus,

I think that it is too late to reverse the "implosion". History is repeating itself, and we have learned nothing, or rather, the people who are now running things and those who will be running things in the future, don't know what happened even in the last century, let alone before that, because they are no longer allowed to learn history. Greater civilisations than ours have fallen. Anybody who studies, or just reads, history knows of the similarities between us, now, and the Roman Empire, then. It's no good saying that we will be saved all the wonders that exist now that we're not available two millennia ago or more, because people are the same as they were then.

Sorry to contradict you Josephus but China's official population figure is about 1.4 Billion and the world population is due to reach 8 Bilion by March 2023 (less than 18 months away). This puts China's population at a little under a quarter of the world's population. However China's growth rate seems due for an increase with the end to the one child policy- hopefully they can come up with other good national policies for responsible population control. It's somewhat "racist" to create world policies to favour the Chinese ethnicity over others at the world level.

India will overtake China's population within the next two years from memory.

I agree with your subtext Josephus that population in China is a problem

Of course the wider nominally Chinese diaspora spread through SE Asia, the Far East and elsewhere in the West is surely much higher.

I've been reading about the contentious "Multi-Regional Theory of Human Evolution" which outlines 3 or 4 out of Africa events- some say this is the reason for different phenotypes and genetics of different races. Others say that phenotypes can change very quickly due to environmental changes- although there is still a genetic history fingerprint.

Neanderthal's have apparently been found from 500K years ago in Britain.

The BBC on the other hand seems to refuse the Multi-regional Theory in favour of the "One Event Out Of Africa Theory". I think it was called "The Story Of Human's".

I suppose if the movement of an ethnicity is "peaceful" then they can get away with taking over pieces of land. Those being displaced probably see their actions as "un-peaceful".

Not all Chinese live in China, Australia has residents identifying themselves as having Chinese ancestry at the 2016 census of 5.6% of the population and numbered 1,213,903. You will find their family culture and practices very similat to the homeland.

If you look at the culture it is not merely communism that is the basis of their survival, it is their patriarchal system to quash anything they believe creates disunity in the family - the famy Nation. They have moved somewhat from Maoist communism, to a Chinese culture of Communism. We would consider some of their practises as violating human rights, but they see it as maintaining the unity of the Nation. It is very much the senior male dominated society, and he controls the family, home, community, Nation to keep the peace.

Democracies arise until one ideology creates dominance and violates the rights of others and civil unrest occurrs. Democrasy can only survive if each party understands the other and respects the other, but human nature being what it is wants to rule the other and destroy the other.

There are up to 60 million Chinese living in countries other than mainland China, and the Mao-like Xi Jinping regards them all as part of the CCP'S crusade against the West. What the individual Chinese think is another matter, but those with relatives, friends or other interests still in China don't have much choice but to serve the CCP. How stupid are these Western multiculturalist politicians!

In 2018, 52% of Australians trusted China. In 2020, only 23% trusted China. According to the Lowy Institute, “Almost all Australians would like to see diversification in order to reduce the economic dependence on China, and most would support imposing travel and financial sanctions on Chinese officials associated with rights abuse”.

No longer can western nations treat China as a mongrel or a leper, to be shunned and dismissed, or exploited at will. China is no longer the sick child of Asia, but has emerged as both an economic powerhouse and a dominant military entity. China's history shows its unity under various dynasties with strong rulers, and an even stronger form of autocratic government. China has never aspired to any form of democracy as we understand it to be, but has relied on dictatorial leadership, be it emperors or Communists like Mao Zedong or todays Xi Jinping.

To the question; Should we accept China as Big Brother? As one who believes Australia should be a nonaligned nation, the answer is an emphatic NO! Our relationship with the United States shows we are poorer for the experience. Both Australia and the US are in invidious positions regarding China. The Americans with their declining long term economy and Australia with its long term reliance on China as a trading partner we both have difficulties with an expanding economic and military China.

ttbn, China like Islam does not see individual civil human rights as we in the West. to them individual freedoms is a sign of disunity and divisivness that must be reeducated or eradicated. Taking action on human rights abuses is an insult to them and a sign of weakness in cooperation. To them it is like punishing the disruptive child in the family, to us it is like tolerating the disruptive child.

Has Australia been weak in allowing other Nations to emerge within our Nation, including third world cultures and communism? Should we have taken more action to reeducate on our values? Australia has become non identifiable as a unified culture and values. Do you think we have too many cultures represented by women in our Parliament that do not respect the National cultural values?

Bad Dog, amongst us today there are "Neanderthals" running...ooops ruining this country as we sit fomenting at our computer keyboards. That we, the electorate, have let this happen speaks volumes...simply we ourselves have been asleep at the wheel by allowing the creeping fascism of Liberals and communist ideals from Labor infect our parliaments and state/territory legislature. China, the Sleeping Dragon has awoken and she is very hungry, for what we have here within our shores is the finest she can dine on. The crappy Australian national anthem spells this all out, but China will not "share our wealth" but moreover make us toil for the Great Party once they have established their final footholds here and in the region. The 're-education camps' set up for the Uighurs are only a sampling plate of what the CCP does to those who disagree. It, as I have opined before is - not a matter of "if", but "when" the CCP takes over. So really, given the lack of preparedness and parlous state of our ADF, oil reserves and general apathy, we are in all honesty better off learning Mandarin.

In order:

Yes.
Yes. Too late now, though.
Yes. We have seen the best of Australia; the real country has gone.
Women are not suited to politics, men's sport, or men's jobs.

I agree with Albie. It's all our fault for idly voting for the same dead-head politicians; we deserve what the majority of ignorant Australians have landed us with.

Yes. The national anthem is rubbish, but so are all anthems. Fewer and fewer people bother to learn the words, and don't even bother to move their lips anymore. The flag is the important thing, not sing-alongs. Our anthem is particularly hypocritical, because we don't know who we are anymore, thanks to multiculturalism and people who can't speak English.

On the China threat: who could possibly believe that our government is capable of defending Australia! The CCP doesn't have to spy on us when they can listen to our old soldiers and non-military media commentators telling all and sundry that we are not prepared; our joint task fighters are useless, according to such "experts" as Robert Gottleibson and Andrew Bolt; people who have never picked up a gun are pontificating that we don't need tanks; and every man and his dog knows about the submarine shambles left behind by Turnbull. Then there is the biggest handicap of all - Scott Morrison.

Australia is well and truly rooted.

Hi there TTBN...

Your last sentence in your last post says it all! With the greatest regret, our Nation, our country, and once-proud Aussie culture are all irretrievable gone. I'm nearly 80 and soon to depart, so it doesn't affect me too much, but I do worry for the younger members of my family. And the career inspired police recruits as they study hard for their new vocational role. Little do they realise they're entering a job better suited to the Army Infantry Corps than a civil police department. God help 'em.

We have too many culturally uneducated in our Parliament who do not respect our laws and values, but represent what Al Grasby encouraged, "Come and practise your own national culture".

We now have nations rising within the Australian Nation, one we acknowledge that this land belongs to at every meeting and their flag flies on Government buildings.

We have Islam claiming the land upon which they tread for Allah, and we pay jizz tax on our food.

We have China purchasing productive land to supply raw product to the mainland. And our land as Coal and iron ore are being shipped to China for their ship building and manufacturing which they return to us as product. China has not got to invade they just have to populate and export.

I'm not far behind you, and I'm glad I don't have to face a lifetime of what's coming. I can't sum up much sympathy for those who will be the victims of their own ignorance and unwillingness to listen to experience, either.

Thanks "Albie Manton in Darwin" for your feedback. Also thanks to others for their comments.

You may be making Neanderthal's look bad by comparing them with Locke Liberal's- I expect they have several superior attributes. The end result of Globalism seems to be Global Tyranny either on the left or the right- or both- Locke Liberalism is a global philosophy.

People need to "draw between some lines" of virtue- virtue is somewhat arbitrary- it has some implications for the society. Even John Stuart Mill discounts "negative freedom" in the second half of his book- because everything affects everyone.

So there is a difference between those that believe in "virtue or freedom".

Societies (like people) need some borders and lines otherwise societies (and people) will die.

Prof Patrick Deneen talks about the failures of Locke Liberalism.

Thanks
