It is glaringly obvious now that Australian politicians and supplicant citizens have done deals with the devil, and with one another. Self-serving politicians and self-interested citizens. Big Government pretends to “protect” citizens, and the citizens pretend to believe them and go along with the myth that we 'are all in it together' as long as they do as they are told, accept the loss of freedoms and police surveillance everywhere they go (now also via their credit card transactions, it seems), and they will be rewarded. The plebs actually believe that politicians are looking after them. And, how good is all that money Big Brother is throwing around!

Rights now exist purely at the discretion of Morrison, Andrews and sundry dictators, elected and unelected. Australians are tamely allowing to happen here what happened long ago in China, Russia, and Nazi Germany.

Fear and rewards. Stick and carrot - at the moment; soon it will just be the stick. We will have more of China here than just their virus.

So, I give you one guess what would happen if the Govt. decided to stop vaccination & make it available to those who want to buy it !

Dear Ttbn,

Your accusations of government are superstitious because the capabilities, intelligence, intentionality and direction that you attribute to them are unfounded - their random unprincipled acts can better be likened to Brownian motion or to the path of flies and only mature intelligent beings can be sanely accused of malice.

The bullying, attacks on our freedoms and general surveillance is not going to end any time soon :-

Australia’s vaccination rate lags behind Jordan, Columbia and Mauritius.
A Melbourne nurse reported that, during an 8 hour shift at a mass vaccination centre, she vaccinated ONE person.
WHO says that complete vaccination in Australia is probably 2 years away.
One or two cases are announced, and the population waits breathlessly for another lockown.
In 2020, 515,000 were lost in the lower income areas; 195,000 jobs were GAINED in the higher income areas - i.e, the area where the people least affected by restrictions, but where champions of lockdowns and restrictions for others still enjoy the good life.. Why would they take the knee of your necks? Has lack of vaccination been due to political incompetence, or has it been deliberate? All that lovely power might be lost?

A stop to all this anti-democracy is possible, but people have to want it stopped.

I don’t agree with your concept, politicians are unintelligent.

They are generally speaking, unprincipled.

And I’m herein looking at a picture of our smiling Gladys encroaching herself onto OLO patrons by attempting to promote a taxpayer funded knee bend to climate change, advertising rebates for solar.

God save us from criminals.

Had Chairman Xi Daniel not been not been laid up, Victoria would have been in lockdown again by now.

Due to poor hotel quarantine in Liberal run South Australia, and a complete cockup of the vaccine roll-out by the Morrison government, Victoria has been forced into a 7 day state wide lockdown.

Dan,

Good comment. Unfortunately, polls show that 3/4 of the dozy population are happy to remain prisoners and lose freedoms. So, it's no wonder that the vaccine roll out is is slow compared with other English-speaking countries - their is no incentive for our government, which is interested only in re-election, to change.

80% of the population deserves the government it gets. Pity about the rest of us.

Another 7 day lockdown starting at midnight in Victoria. There might be no point in getting vaccinated in that sorry state if, as it seems, the Super Egos there think they can annihilate the virus.

Oh dear oh dear. Here is another string for your bow ttbn.

There is one law for the rich and one law for the poor, as we know. But those laws have been extended under COVID restrictions (in nsw at the least).

That law is now; one law for the rich, one law for the poor AND one law for Gay rights to March ten thousand gays and their supporters through the streets of kings cross into Oxford street.

How did they do this?

Easily, this is the law under Gladys. A very flexible arrangement. The approved March on the street was nine hundred protesters.
That number did not include the nine thousand extras marching down the footpaths disguised as onlookers.

An observation made by one news source at the time, and very quickly nipped in the bud with a lie by the majority of news outlets.

God spare us from criminals.

Dan,

Same thing on Anzac Day: march observers severely limited, but sardines at the footy.

I really don't know why Gladys is singled out as St. Joan of Covid, either.

ttbn,

Reports from London; Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson's closest aid has given evidence before Westminster MP's that due to Bug Ridden Boris's totally incompetent handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Britain, tens of thousands of Britons have died needlessly from the virus!

Socialist governments might tax you, BUT CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENTS WILL KILL YOU!

Bug Ridden Boris, has offered to have the VIRUS injected into himself on the telly! Drum roll please!

YES BORIS, hopefully you can get the "bug" again and that will be the end of it.

A report yesterday told of over 5000 in the UK who were fully vaccinated, [if that is what you call this goo], but still contracted the virus, a few hundred have been hospitalised, & almost 200 have died.

I have not heard that these who have had the jab in Victoria are excused the lockdown. Obviously the Vic lefty government doesn't trust the jab to be of any use in preventing the current spread.

Who was it who said if facts change I change my opinion? Should have said, if it doesn't work, stop wasting money on doing it.

"the Vic lefty government doesn't trust the jab to be of any use in preventing the current spread." Not with the low rate of vaccination, thanks to the shambolic roll-out by the Morrison government.

No one clamed that vaccination gives 100% protection from the virus.

"According to medical experts, so-called breakthrough cases -- cases where fully vaccinated individuals test positive for coronavirus -- are possible, but have so far been rare."

"While the vaccine itself cannot give you the virus, it is also not 100% effective at preventing the virus entirely, though those who receive the vaccine are far less likely to be hospitalized or die from it, data shows."

What disturbs me somewhat is that people under 50
are given one kind of vaccine and those over 50
are given another. Why?

Why the discrimination based on age?

One in eight Brits are vaccinated. 42% in the US. 10% in Brazil. Australia - 1.9%, and a lot of scaremongering about the side effects of the vaccine on almost nobody. The biggest wet blanket and obstacle to a way out? Scott Morrison, who is now siding with the state idiots, which include the morons in Victoria. Morrison, who has no political beliefs at all, sees that the nut jobs in the states are being re-elected for their draconian stupidity, and he wants the same for himself at the next election. Bugger what is right for Australia and Australians, it's all about Morrison's election welfare.

"Why the discrimination based on age?"

I agree with Foxy. The virus affects different age groups in different ways. It discriminates against the elderly and in favour of the young. We need to take the virus to the anti-discrimination courts for its open and unapologetic ageism.

Ageism?

No at all.

There have been reports of rare blood clots linked
to the AstraZeneca vaccine. Many older people
especially ones who do have a history of blood
clots on the lungs prefer to wait for Pfizer or
Moderna vaccines due to be available at the
end of the year.

Terry Barnes says this morning:

I"If Victoria bumps along the WuFlu road like a clapped-out Model T with a flat tyre and a broken fanbelt, it drags down the rest of the country. It drags you down."

How true. And, as a Stalinist sense of fear continues to pervade Victoria, Marshall has locked out Victorians after letting a carrier return to Victoria from an Adelaide so-called quarantine hotel.

What a joke our politicians are, led by top joke Morrison, who was recently described as: "the ultimate pragmatist with strong religious but few apparent political beliefs". He and his stupid national "cabinet" should be drummed out in disgrace. 1.9% vaccinated! There is doubt now that our relative success initially with the Chinese flu was pure luck - nothing to do with the moronic political class - and that luck seems to have run out.

Here I am sitting in my study and looking out
the window at the people walking past (I'm in
Melbourne) and what do you know - not one person
is wearing a mask! They're supposed tp be
mandatory. It appears that people just don't give
a stuff!

People protesting in Melbourne against the
lockdown and against vaccination and wearing
masks. Police officers had their hands full.
The behaviour of the protestors was disgusting.
And I felt so sorry for the officers. Anyway,
arrests were made. And rightly so!

Oh, I thought protests were good. Or do we have different opinions depending upon which thread we're in. Or perhaps protests are only good when you agree with them.

Hypocrisy reigns supreme.

An interesting take on our culture.

Those who approve of kids wagging school to go to a global warming protest want to see people arrested for a lock down protest.

for not going to church on Sunday.

Dear Hassie,

The kids protesting did not behave in the way
the adults did during their lockdown protest
here in Melbourne. No kid spat at police or
were abusive. And that was my criticism.
The way the adults protested.
