I watched a movie last night.
I learned in the movie that the era of the white man has ended and this is the era of the brown (Indian) and yellow (Chinese) man. I'm not being racist - this is exactly as it was portrayed in the movie. Posted by Armchair Critic, Monday, 25 January 2021 5:19:13 PM

Hi Paul,
It gets crazier :) Now that Trump is gone, could Biden have been Q all along ? Will he secretly deliver ? http://www.sbs.com.au/news/qanon-followers-realise-their-baseless-conspiracy-was-all-a-lie-as-president-joe-biden-takes-office In the lead-up to the election, I was thinking if it was possible for millions of people to become paranoid and psychotic. I think so, yes, and to stay that way. Joe Posted by loudmouth2, Monday, 25 January 2021 5:25:00 PM

Both progressivism and conservatism have principles in their own peculiar ways. Anarchism, left or right, has none, except to tear down what one doesn't like, if one does not get one's way. From Wikipedia “Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is sceptical of authority and rejects all involuntary, coercive forms of hierarchy. Anarchism calls for the abolition of the state, which it holds to be undesirable, unnecessary, and harmful. It is usually described alongside libertarian Marxism as the libertarian wing (libertarian socialism) of the socialist movement and as having a historical association with anti-capitalism and socialism. The history of anarchism goes back to prehistory, when humans arguably lived in anarchistic societies long before the establishment of formal states, realms or empires. With the rise of organised hierarchical bodies, scepticism toward authority also rose, but it was not until the 19th century that a self-conscious political movement emerged. During the latter half of the 19th and the first decades of the 20th century, the anarchist movement flourished in most parts of the world and had a significant role in workers' struggles for emancipation. Various anarchist schools of thought formed during this period. Anarchists have taken part in several revolutions, most notably in the Spanish Civil War, whose end marked the end of the classical era of anarchism. In the last decades of the 20th and into the 21st century, the anarchist movement has been resurgent once more. Anarchism employs a diversity of tactics in order to meet its ideal ends which can be broadly separated into revolutionary and evolutionary tactics. There is significant overlap between the two which are merely descriptive. Revolutionary tactics aim to bring down authority and state, having taken a violent turn in the past. Evolutionary tactics aim to prefigure what an anarchist society would be like. Anarchist thought, criticism and praxis have played a part in diverse areas of human society. Criticisms of anarchism include claims that it is internally inconsistent, violent, or utopian.” “Homage to Catalonia” is George Orwell’s account of his participation with the anarchists in the Spanish Civil War Posted by david f, Monday, 25 January 2021 8:52:04 PM

Hi Joe,
"I thought this thread was a sort of spoof until I came across this:" Joe, you grievous me so, whenever have I been flippant, or treated our discussions on OLO with folly? In the words of the immortal Andrew Peacock; "This is a very serioussssss matter!" I did envisage certain members of our forum fraternity rushing forth, and showing their eagerness to joint such a party where they could freely express their Trumpyness, seems not so, by the lack of response. Here in Aussie we have the political greats to front this immortal Patriots Party, people such as Fat George Christensen, the member for South Manila, springs to mind, The Mad Katter! who can not recognise the political wisdom of Bob, The Lovely Pauline, a sweet girl if ever there was one, even the rambunctious Corny Banana could be prised out of retirement at Sky News to lead this mighty party, for some it would be the return of the messiah. Who can forget Corny's rampaging success leading the Australian Conservatives to victory a year or two ago. The Great Donald has merely provided the spark, it now up to the brotherhood of the Forum's old farts club, and other assorted odd-bods to provide the blazing inferno which will be the 'Australian Patriots Party'. With the cry of "Disinfectant for ALL!" great changes can be envoked within the political landscape of Australia, as demonstrated by The Great Donald's recent success in the good old U.S of A. Who will be first to join? Count you in Joe? Anyway, Happy Invasion Day, off to the Brisbane protest at 11am. Posted by Paul1405, Tuesday, 26 January 2021 6:09:18 AM

So there are progressives, conservatives and now rat-bags ?
Both progressivism and conservatism have principles in their own peculiar ways. Anarchism, left or right, has none, except to tear down what one doesn't like, if one does not get one's way.
As a progressive conservative, I venture to suggest that, if something can be improved, then it should be - but if it can't easily, then it's possible that the situation shouldn't be changed, until it CAN be improved. If it ain't all that broken, then don't muck around trying to fix it. In other words, weigh up the risks of change carefully. Learn from history.
