Personally, I do think that it may very likely have started in central China, at the wet markets, in the exchange of wild-foods like bats and pangolins for money. Such 'exchanges' of viruses for money and goods for foraging people are common all round the world, and have been the source of many human viruses - HIV, Zika, malaria, swine flu, bird flu, etc.
