"sets new standards and stands a high moral ground on important issues, to the benefit of all Australians."
Oh I hardly expect him to do that, he is not that kind of person. However compared to this utterly venal current crop of Coalition shisters he is not quite as low.
Against Barnaby's infedelities, and lies, and rorts he is not as bad.
Compared to McKenzie and Morrison rorting a $100 million scheme he did not reach those giddying heights.
Compared to Angus Taylor's acting in venal self interest with water rorts and grassland matters Abbott comes out not too bad.
Against Dutton's utter heartlessness and rorting of visas Abbott is not his measure.
Abbott is almost sycopathic in his hatred of opponents and what he did to Hanson was quite viscious and calculating. It seems that all politicians require a capacity to hate, it is just his is on steroids.
He is not a pleasant man and not someone I would like to see anywhere near a position of leadership again, but a back bencher intsead of any of the others I have mentioned is something I could stomach.
