anyone noticed that the police were totally powerless to stop spoilt brats super gluing themselves to the road and causing chaos in all cities and now they move people on for sunbathing even if they are practising social distancing. Sums up much of what is wrong in this country.

runner,

They don't seem to care that they will be seen as hypocrites. And they don't have to, thanks to the Marxist miasma hanging over us.

Chief hypocrite would have to be Gladys Berejiklian and her lunatic edict that anyone outside his or her home without a reasonable excuse would be fined $11,000. This is the woman who allowed vurus-infected people to swarm off the Ruby Princess without being tested or isolated like others returning to Australia. Thankfully the idiot of a woman will not be able to put the threat into practice because the High Court would throw it out. Even NSW doesn't deserve such an incompetent moron. Morrison really needs to stop saying how good she is if he wants to stick around.

runner, what are you saying? Would you prefer thousands more to die for the sake of free expression.

Something of interest; My son is a public bus driver in Sydney at one of the biggest depots, about 400 drivers on weekday peak hour. Firstly, not one driver has tested positive for covid-19, as far they know, right across the network, that's odd in itself, no protective gear or sanitizer provided. The buses to pick up those going to the hotels from the airport on the weekend were provided from the sons depot, but the drivers we brought in from other locations, Some spent up to 3 or 4 hours with the people to be isolated, 20 minute trip from the airport turned into a real saga as officials at the airport sent multiple buses to the wrong hotels, people left sitting in buses in the city for hours waiting for the mess to be sorted out, again not even a face mask, or hand sanitizer for the drivers. I bet Gladys is not riding the Sydney public transport system, too dangerous, sealed up in her free govvey car I'd say

Trust your son remains well Paul. Personally I have a son at a major hospital emergency ward. Does make me a little nervous.

It seems heavy handed to move on people getting some sunshine when they are keeping a fair distance from others. It was pathetically weak to allow school kids and spoilt brats to close down cities while they threw their silly little gw tantrums a few weeks back.

Hi runner, we just can't justify one thing by pointing to another thing. It puts us on a slippery slope of justifying all sorts of behaviour based on unrelated behaviour.

Julian Burnside, human rights advocate had this to say; “on the surface, these measures interfere appallingly with human rights – but for good reason”. “My instinct is that it’s a pretty serious health crisis,” he said. “[Directions] like this are probably justifiable in order to minimise the extraordinary acceleration of infection and in some cases death.” Burnside said the measures were designed to “address a specific problem, and once the public health crisis has passed the measures ought to be repealed”. “The government has to be guided by genuine, impartial medical advice."
