Extinction Rebellion eco-warriors have caused rush hour chaos after climbing on Tube trains today – with furious commuters dragging protesters off trains.

The protesters have taken over trains at Stratford, Canning Town and Shadwell in London this morning.

Dramatic footage shows a mob of commuters pulling the protesters off a train at Canning Town as the crowd cheers.

There were shocking scenes as one activist was stamped on by a mob as he tumbled off the roof of a Jubilee line train at Canning Town station in east London.
