individual,

Yes. I understand that. Telstra has let Australians down badly in more ways than one. But, if you have no choice of provider, I don't know what you can do. My provider is not perfect, but at least they don't have people with foreign accents to deal with. The half-wits who make the rules are all too young to know how hard it is for elderly people with hearing problems to deal with this.

As for 'private' information, it seems anyone can get whatever information they want about anybody these days.

ttbn,
Private info is there for anyone who is interested to see. But, what about Nation security ? What programs do the manufacturers of computer equipment build in with it ? Programs that the user has no clue about yet the manufacturer can access at the flick of a switch so to speak. Telstra technical support is via the Philipines every time I need them & I'm unconvinced that they only ask me to type in the password just to make me feel safer. They already have all the info they need about us courtesy of Telstra.

I have just paid Telstra $86.24 for 862.5MB of data on prepaid mobile during the last 30 days. $86 bucks for not even 1GB is daylight robbery.
Calls came to $34.14.
SMS came to $14.10 for 47 sent.

Other Telstra plans are selling 5GB of data for $50.00 expiring in 365 days, which I have for my computer dongle.

Being on a station near Packsaddle NSW there is no other signal, just Telstra.

JF Aus,
The Telecommunications Ombudsman obviously thinks nothing of the practices, why else can one of the most complained about companies in this nation continue its practices ?
