Turnbull Gone, But Can Labor Still Takeover The Coalition?

Someone calling himself Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus asks in Catallaxy Files (5/1/19) if there is a “A Labor Takeover of the Coalition” afoot? Well, yes, many of us would say; what do you think Malcolm Turnbull was doing? He managed to reduce the Coalition's majority to one seat, with his Labor sympathies.

But Cincinnatus has in mind the pressure currently being put on the Coalition to introduce Labor's female quota system. This, he believes, is an attempted takeover of the Coalition by people (women in this case) who would be as “equally at ease” in the Labor party as they would be in the Liberal party or the National party.

Hey! Who cares about about policies and values. It's the job they want. And many Liberal women would be just as happy in the Labor party; but they chose the Liberal party to avoid the “hurly burly of Labor”.

Cincinnatus rightly agrees with encouraging conservative women to nominate as candidates, but he warns the Liberals, if they “rush to erect a barrier to protect against claims that the Coalition is anti-women”, not to make the grave mistake of lowering standards and allowing “Labor-like women to grab pre-selection”. As they did with Julia Banks and other school girls whining about 'bullying’. For, “The best way to destroy the Coalition is for it to become the Labor party”; and then we will have a Henry Ford government - “any government you like, as long as it’s big.

The idea of further Labor infiltration of the Coalition is supported by the fact the deputy leader of the Labor party is making the most fuss about the Coalition's 'need' for woman. Obnoxious though she is, she is much smarter than the dopes in the Liberal party who will eventually fall for the quota system for females.

I do wonder how long it will be before the Federal Nats dare to follow their SA counterparts and enter a coalition with Labor.

It is a great pity that Turnbull postponed the Libs' electoral collapse, but I get the impression that you wouldn't like the situation we'd be in if he'd left Abbott in charge. Australians care about policies and values, and reject Abbott's conservatism... and also reject your simplistic case for small government.

Bullying is a serious problem and should always be stamped out. Don't make the mistake of assuming people's policy positions correspond to their ability to deal with bullying.

ttbn,

Labor doesn't need to "takeover the Coalition."
Parliament exists to solve problems.
Australians have given up on the
Coalition's ability to solve problems.
Unless the Coalition radically rewrites its
agenda in 2019 as it approaches the election, the
Morrison government will be left behind, allowing
Labor effortlessly to position itself as the party
of the future.

Even Morrison's Minister for Financial Services,
Kelly O'Dwyer stated that the Coalition is seen as,
"homophobic, anti-women, climate-change deniers."

it is certainly clear that Laboutr/Liberal and Greens are full of Christophobes. They seem to hate the idea of children growing up with a loving dad and mum. Instead they pander to those who have stuffed up their own lives and want to ensure everyone follows suite. Yep normal is now considered extreme.
