I'm not a Trump supporter although I did predict his election to the Presidency and I do watch his progress with some glee.

What would I do with the caravan?
Stop it at the border and let Mexico solve the problem; they are part of the problem anyway.

Under American law the president is entitled to use the military where there is a law and order issue that local law enforcement cannot cope with, and 5000 to 10 000 illegal immigrants that intend to storm the border and swamp the border controls as they did in Mexico is just that situation. No one is stupid enough to suggest that they are going to shoot anyone, rather arrest them and detain or deport them. Given the number sending them there the day before with no planning would also be idiotic.

Letting them through would be tantamount to opening the borders just as the moronic labor government did here.

The caravan has shrunk from 7,000 people to less than
3,500 and is still weeks away from reaching the United
States. Usually if necessary the National Guard is
called in to handle security problems that occur within
the states and not the military. The question needs to be
asked - is the US President using the military in this case
for political gain, with the mid-term elections
on the horizon?

the boats," needs further analysis.
