After reading this I now understand why Australia is becoming unaffordable.

Building site lollipop lady gets paid a staggering $130,000 a year - more than TWICE what most nurses are paid

Traffic controller earning $130,000 for a job that requires two day's training
'Lollipop lady', from Sydney Amy Dowsett is raking in the handsome salary
'When I tell other people how much I earn, they say: ''Where do I sign up''?'
Employees on non-union contracts earn around half of Ms Dowsett's salary

A Sydney traffic controller is earning a whopping $130,000 for a job that requires just two day's training.

'Lollipop lady' Amy Dowsett is raking in the handsome salary, roughly double that of a nurse's annual income, thanks to the construction boom and the industry's union.

The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union member earns over $40 an hour and also receives a $45 per day travel allowance and a $22 meal allowance.

Depending on the size of the project, she is also paid a site allowance of between $2.10 and $3.95 per hour.

And if she works more than 10 hours at her Penrith building site, she receives double time.

Employees on non-CFMEU contracts earn significantly less, around half of Ms Dowsett's salary.

'It's standover tactics. What the CFMEU makes employers pay is a farce,' one company owner, who didn't want to be named, told the paper.

Brian Parker, the union's NSW state secretary, said the salary is justified, adding that some traffic controllers are earning up to $180,000 per year.

'They stand outside all day in all sorts of weather and they cop abuse from the public,' he said.

Mr Parker said under a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement many workers like Ms Dowsett will receive a 3.5 per cent pay rise in a few months' time.

With just 2 minutes training she put down $900 on Bitcoin in January.
Traffic in cybers went to $ 25000 then $17000 after a stop sign. The site is building again on multi-level backed by Asian funding and lollies.

And your point is?

Harry Triguboff. Property developer, Meriton, estimated wealth $11.43 billion

If this worker saves all her income and pays no tax for the next 8,792 years she will be as rich as Harry.

Shows what a good union the CFMEU is for its members.

Two fools from the Coalition cost the taxpayer millions in by-elections and they had no training at all. will they foot the bill for their stupidity, I think not.

We could go on about this sort of thing all day. Remember the 7/11 rip off, work 40 hours get paid for 20. Many are still waiting for what they are owed.

Closer to home, my son is a State Transit bus driver, working this afternoon and night, will make $500/$600 before tax, but has to give up time with his 3 kids to do it, to pay the bills.

Good on ya Issy. Merry Xmas and a happy new year.

I wonder how much our Independent politicians earn?

People like Jacqui Lambie, Pauline Hanson, Derryn Hinch?
Just to name a few.

What training have them had for their jobs?

This is just the tip of the iceberg of rorts where the CFMEU is concerned. The CFMEU, the union that funds Greens and Labor,

"CFMEU fined almost $50,000 by Federal Circuit Court judge, slapped down for thinking it can ‘usurp Parliament’

A BRISBANE judge has launched a scathing attack on the CFMEU, accusing it of arrogantly thinking it can “set the law in this country” and “usurp Parliament”.

The Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union and Brisbane-based Dig It Landscapes on Tuesday copped more than $40,000 in fines each after a waterproofing business’ contract was terminated in 2014 because it did not have a union enterprise bargaining agreement.

Federal Circuit Court Judge Sal Vasta did not mince words when handing down the fines following a successful prosecution by the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner for breaches of the Fair Work Act.

“It beggars belief that the CFMEU believe that they can act in a manner where they are the ones who dictate who can or cannot work on a construction site,” Judge Vasta said." [Courier Mail,September 5, 2017]

Don't get me started on unions. We are uncompetitive in selling to the world because of the unions. I am astonished that the men in this country haven't got the stones to confront an obviously tight arsed boss for a better deal, money and/or conditions. This country has proven itself to be a bunch of gutless soft cocks who at best, all stand in a group behind some loudmouth ignoramus with political aspirations and make a lot of noise all the while being told what to say and do. The fact that some jobs get paid way too much is not in question. I'm not just talking about blue collar workers. My disdain is aimed at leaches and low lives like lawyers and company directors, the scum of high society who deem themselves better than the rest of us, but when put to the test are nothing but low level con-men. I've often said sack these guys and suddenly you will see their true status. They suddenly find themselves driving an older second hand Holden rather than their previous new Porsche or other pose mobile that was paid for by the company. I have always maintained that for us to move forward we need to see a major cut in prices on everything from our homes to our jobs. As long as everything falls by at least 30% we won't feel a change in living standards or the economy, but our exports and income as a nation will increase dramatically.

I think that it is a very good argument to avoid union affiliated construction companies to do work for you.

ALTRAV - Quote "I am astonished that the men in this country haven't got the stones to confront an obviously tight arsed boss for a better deal, money and/or conditions."

You can blame the political parties with there mass immigration policy as well as 457 visas for that.
Simply most workers can be replaced in no time with someone else and usually with someone willing to accept peanuts and the bosses know this and take advantage of it.

ALTRAV can I suggest you paragraph or leave a line between different point it will make your comments easier to read.

Australia got its first trade unionists after the arrest of the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
The fact that some unions are crooked doesn't mean that all are or that there is no necessity for men and women to band together to fight for their rights and for a better deal.

The rabid right are frothing at the mouth over the legitimate action of the workers friend, and best union in Australia the CFMEU. If they still give out those Order of Aussie gongs, around this time of the year I think one for Brian Parker NSW Union Secretary would be most appropriate, for services to the workers of Australia. Possibly Malcolm has him on the list already, after last years unfortunate oversight.

Leoj you will have to stop reading such Murdoch rubbish.

Nah, nicknick, I want something iron clad and rock solid like the Capitalists latest folly, BITCOIN. Millions to be made here. Come in sucker! This leaves the aeroplane scam for dead.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwide payment system. It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator. ... Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009."

"Cryptocurrency" you do tell, nothing like a pocket full of cryptodollars to feed the masses. Don't be concerned about the young lady with the lolly pop sign, and a fist full of earned dollars. Be very concerned about the speculators and profiteers, who produce nothing but take the lot. Did someone say Tuesday, October 29, 1929 is not far off. The Donald's working on it.

Paul1405, please don't glorify these terrorist groups.

I don't condone the theft that some of these companies engage in at the expense of the workers, but the unions, like the govt are not there to help anyone but themselves.

I cannot look past absolute idiots like Hawke.

He is just one of the con-men who took advantage of the working class all the while secretly strengthening his own agenda.

And he succeeded, laughing like an idiot at all the fools that helped him along the way, when they were stupid enough to think he was helping them.

These union tactics are nothing new. They are in fact illegal in most other countries.

But everywhere else in the world it is called the 'Mafia'.

'Legitimate action', 'workers friend'? Paul who the hell are you? A union terrorist, or what?

By law, yes, by law, they should all be rounded up and jailed. Any way you look at it, it is a mob, that gets unruly as a matter of course, spurred on by this moron with political ambitions.

But that's OK carry on and keep pushing for more pay, so everything around you will automatically increase in price, putting us and Australia at a huge dis-advantage and eventually send us crashing into third world status or at least recession, or worse.

So, keep looking for that dream, but remember, the nightmare is not far behind it.
