According to the latest news on Manus Island, most of the 600 illegals removed last month from the defunct detention centre were returned to their countries of origin. 'The Australian' reports Minister Dutton as saying that all non-refugees will be returned to their countries of origin.

If this can now be done now without upsetting the corrupt United Nations, the government should explain to us why our money has been wasted for so long on tourists and country-shoppers. They cannot have just found out that the illegals being deported at this late date were frauds.

Yes, all this time no one has asked the local Manus Islanders about their "rights", civil, human or otherwise.

HMA ships and others laden with building supplies to build the gulags at Lombrum and Mokerang. With ex-pat FIFO workers housed at floating accommodation in Lorengau being paid ridiculous annual sums equivalent to those of workers at Gorgon & Wheatstone projects, while the 'local' workforce was lucky if they were paid K12.00 per hour.

Another "jobs for the boys", a gravy train of epic proportions for the likes of Transfield and G4S executives who just walked away from the whole mess.

Like America and its allies in 1945 who were lucky enough at that time to get away with bulldozing the detritus of war off wharves and into pits around Los Negros and Manus Island, we see again the crows come in & leave the place in chaos.

No Royal Commission here...move along, in the words of Obi Wan Kenobi:
"these aren't the droids you're looking for."

Ex DEEWR, Foreign Affairs, and many other ex or 'on departmental leave', furloughs, redeployments or recently resigned public servants setting up "consultancies" "advisory boards" and such and killing the pig, so to speak.

As usual, the Manusians will be left to their own devices and Australian taxpayers got value for money here.

Wantok...pas im door lik-lik.

My now wife and her 3 children cost us $20000, to the government, to settle in Aus. The country shoppers get fed, lodged and pocket money and $20000 go money.Plus a large court settlement. What a joke we aussies are. Our politicians and beaurecrats can prune and pretend what compassionate caring people they are.

They are compassionate and caring people.

They care for themselves and their own.
