There seems to be a competition among the loonies to see who can piss off the most people. If you take any notice of them, you will end up nuttier than they are.

You can be sure the social engineers confuse and pervert the minds of as many kids as possible with their sick ideology. It will be 'cool' to identify as transgender. Won't the psych's and social service industry cash in.

Straight people make up 95% to 97% of the population and of that 3-5 % of non-straight, the vast majority are simply gay. The transgender community makes up a small fraction of 1%.
In my son's school, which was always very accepting, of the 1500 boys not one was transgender, which begs the obvious question of why the earth is moving for persons so rare that one could go through life without ever meeting one? I believe that some twat is proposing to remove gender from sex education making it practically useless for the 95% of people most likely to fall pregnant etc. Posted by Shadow Minister, Tuesday, 3 October 2017 7:52:59 PM

'In my son's school, which was always very accepting, of the 1500 boys not one was transgender'
can be sure that will change once the 'safe' schools putrifies the kids minds. Posted by runner, Tuesday, 3 October 2017 8:31:47 PM

The parents of children care what their children are being taught that might confuse or redirect their thinking into what the parents believe are perversions of their values or facts.
Until a child reaches 5 - 6 they are not aware of sex unless they have been exposed to sex. Many boys confined to the city demonstrate feminine characteristics until the age of puberty, with the teaching of Safe Schools it may influence them to believe they are really girls with a penis, especially if raised by a single or lesbian parents. Gender reassignment rises with the Safe Schools program. With the amount of hormones in our processed foods that also has an effect upon developing bodies, experiments have demonstrated that gender traits can be changed by hormones. However unless surgery is performed they always retain their gender identity. I believe the conflict in the homes has led to a rise in lesbian relationships, as parents do not demonstrate real love for each other, or fathers for their daughters Posted by Josephus, Wednesday, 4 October 2017 8:47:58 AM

For most of us, the sky is blue.
Rare individuals may subjectively perceive the sky as other colours. Must we revise every recorded instance of a "blue sky" into colour-neutral terminology? Biology is not "socially constructed", it is anatomical fact. What you *do* with your anatomy is your choice, but the scientific realities remain the same, so should be taught the same to all students. Posted by Shockadelic, Wednesday, 4 October 2017 9:08:21 AM

Perhaps the question is why is everyone running around predicting the end of civilisation when a small handful of people just want to be treated well, and not be bullied and made to feel ashamed. Perhaps if the reaction wasn't so extreme, then the counter-reaction (eg language) wouldn't be so silly.
There are many other things that are far more dangerous to civilisation: nuclear stand-offs, the political acceptance in the USA of free access to machine guns, the increasing divisiveness between people, fights over water (water issues bought down more civilisations than SSM) Posted by Cossomby, Wednesday, 4 October 2017 11:33:01 AM

Cossomby you should watch this.
In fact everyone should watch it. http://youtu.be/uc2AUDljlhk It's got nothing to do with bullying. They are empowered by those who wish to destroy society. The minute they all realise that I will NEVER go along with the gay / gender indoctrination of our kids or victimising other members of the community then maybe my so-called 'counter-reaction' would be less likely to exist. AC: Politics as usual, US style. I'm sure it would be possible to put together a similar video featuring the alt right's evil undermining of America. No doubt someone's already done it.
It's not the ideas of either side that are the problem, though they are getting more extreme, on both sides. It's that each side believe that they, and only they, are 100% right and the other side are a bunch of evil crazies. And that this gives them the right to take matters into their own hands. The only thing that cheers me up is the courage of ordinary people in Las Vegas and in areas battered by hurricanes, who went to the assistance of their fellow humans without checking out their political views first! I'm not sure about transgender -
but here in Melbourne we have a bus company called, "Transdev!" Should we be careful when we get on the bus, or should we just go for the ride? Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 4 October 2017 12:39:53 PM

In Brisbane we have 'Translink'; but it's not a dating agency for transsexuals.

Shockadelic, "What you *do* with your anatomy is your choice, but the scientific realities remain the same, so should be taught the same to all students"
If I might borrow your comment, adding that children cannot consent to what poor or slanted advice they might be given, nor to the treatments they are given. Lawyers stand to make a fortune in the future from the claims. Irreversible sex changes later regretted, how many $millions for that? Posted by leoj, Wednesday, 4 October 2017 1:20:03 PM

In my son's school, The New Age Presbyterian Ladies College which was always very accepting, of the 1500 boys not one was transgender. So said the Head Master Miss Natalie Dinkum, formally Mr Nigel Dinkum, that is, until he took to wearing a dress.

Political correct has the looney coming out of the woodwork.
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/862304/LGBT-gay-lesbian-bisexual-people-increase-UK-London-Ireland-Wales-Scotland More than a million people in the UK now identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual MORE than a million people in the UK are gay, lesbian or bisexual and they are more likely to be men than women, according to official figures. The huge number recorded by the Office for National Statistics last year represents 2 per cent of the population and is a rise on the 930,000 who identified as homosexual or bisexual in 2015. Analysis of the data revealed that 16 to 24-year-olds were the age group most likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual last year with about one in every 25 or 4.1 per cent. The figure is up from 3.3 per cent in 2015. This compares to just 0.7 per cent of those aged 65 -plus and highlights changing social mores combined with younger people being more likely to explore their sexuality. Across the UK, last year saw a “statistically significant increase” in people identifying as LGB, with around 1.1m people or two per cent saying they were LGB, compared with 1.7 per cent in 2015. Scotland had the highest proportion in the UK last year, with 2.2 per cent, while England followed with 1.9 per cent. Northern Ireland and Wales both reported an LBG population of 1.7 per cent. London remained the region with the highest proportion of gay and bisexual people at 2.7 per cent, also a rise on the previous year’s 2.6 per cent. The data also shows 2.3 per cent of men said they were gay or bisexual compared to 1.6 per cent of women who identified as lesbian or bisexual. Some 0.5 per cent of the population identified as “other”, meaning they did not consider themselves to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or straight. Posted by Philip S, Thursday, 5 October 2017 1:10:20 AM

//The huge number recorded by the Office for National Statistics...//
Huge number? It's approx. 1.68% of the population by my calculation, leaving 98.32% that are straight. Whoever wrote that article has some funny ideas about statistics. Posted by Toni Lavis, Thursday, 5 October 2017 5:49:46 AM

In experiments done with rats when an area is overpopulated bisexual and homosexual behaviour occurs. Persons who live in over crowded environments are also inclined to experiment sexually. Beside with the high level of hormones in our diet it can interferes with gender identity.

and of course the ever growing number of teenagers and others that regret going through surgery are ignored.

People who probably object to experiments being performed on rats are now having themselves experimented on by quacks with no morals. As
Germaine Greer said, having 'the operation' doesn't make you a woman. It's a mad, mad world with lots of permanently damaged people condemning themselves to misery. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 5 October 2017 1:16:21 PM

I used their figures, so either we're both right or both wrong. But I reckon they're probably a fairly reliable source The journalist who described those figures as 'huge' is definitely wrong. Posted by Toni Lavis, Thursday, 5 October 2017 2:53:25 PM

There are no firm figures for Australia's intersex
population. Estimates range from one in 2,000 births to four per cent of the population. However the Organisation Intersex International Australia (OII Australia) recommends a mid range figure of 1.7% of all births. The following link, written by a transgender American woman (male to female) is worth a read. Obviously, anyone can dress up any way they like. But it may not change one's DNA :( However, New Age scientists may have found a way to annul any effects of DNA - they are working on complete DNA fluidity. Lysenko at his best !

A MUM says she has never been so proud after her son decided to transition to be a girl - and wants her to start puberty blocking drugs as soon as possible. Mum-of-two Caren Middleton, 44, says her child Kian has always wanted to be a girl, and that their family "will always love and support her whatever gender she chooses to be." Kian was born a boy, but this term, he asked friends and family to refer to him by the name Zoey, and has returned to school from the summer holidays wearing a skirt and tights. Zoey says the change means she is "much happier and more confident now," and her parents are vowing to let her start on puberty blocking drugs as soon as possible. Currently, the Gender Identity Development Clinic at the Tavistock Hospital is the only service for transgender children in England. Parents Caren and David hope that Zoey will soon be assessed at the London hospital, some 150 miles from the family's home in Chesterfield, and can begin the monthly hormone injections to block the start of puberty. Foxy,
The national geographic article to which you link in your last post is scientifically informative and while giving valuable information on those born intersex from either chromosomal mix-ups or congenital mishaps, finds no scientific information about those who feel that they are in the "wrong" body. Given that straight people make up roughly 97% of the population, the 1.7% that the gender advocacy group chose is a little high. Reading further on the article you linked the more reasonable consensus is that the % transgender is closer to 0.5%, therefore, given that 99.5% of the population (including gays and lesbians) clearly identifies with the sex that they are born with, the concept of gender fluidity is tenuous at best. Which is why the safe schools initiative that tried to reprogram children's understanding of gender and sex to accommodate a minuscule minority was essentially horsecrap. Follow the money, if it is only .5% of the population who stands to make money out of it becoming accepted.
Possible Lawyers, advocates, charities, councilors, politicians trying to raise there profile or breakdown social cohesion within a country. Who with half a brain would try to appease .5% of anything? Posted by Philip S, Monday, 9 October 2017 4:29:12 PM

Dear Shadow Minister,
I read your post and I have to admit that your use of the word "horsecrap" pretty much sums it up. Posted by Foxy, Monday, 9 October 2017 5:57:57 PM

I re-read my post and now feel that I should explain
a bit further. What I tried to do with the link I cited earlier was for us to look at the sufferers from gender dysphoria as fellow citizens deserving of toleration and compassion as they struggle to find themselves. I was hoping that after reading the link - it would lead towards a desire to try to maintain a genuine community connection. Instead I got "horsecrap." Foxy,
As an atheist, I have friends that are committed Christians, a Muslim, and a couple of Hindus. I treat them with the same tolerance and compassion as the rest of my friends. I don't need to twist my belief system to accommodate all their beliefs. Similarly, I have treated the one individual that I have worked with that was "transitioning", with tolerance and compassion without having to believe that gender is fluid. I have the greatest sympathy for those suffering from gender dysphoria and believe that they should be treated as any other citizen and allowed to present in any gender they choose. However, it does not require all children to be indoctrinated in an ideology that has no scientific basis for the 1 in 200 individuals that they might meet. In short tolerance and compassion good, safe schools horse crap. Posted by Shadow Minister, Tuesday, 10 October 2017 4:57:47 AM

Here is the article.

Phrases like 'male' and 'female' could be banned in Australian schools
A call to change school sex education to omit gendered references and make lessons more inclusive for transgender students has sparked debate across the country
Rather than gendered references to reproductive anatomy with words like penis, vagina, sperm, and ovaries, gender-neutral terms to identify these organs could be used, an Australian university study suggests.
“Educators and sexuality education programs must… develop ways of talking about bodies and intimacy that shift attention away from the normative association of particular genders with particular anatomies,” the paper published in the Journal of Sex Education, claims.
“The language of sperm and eggs can produce dysphoria for some young transgender people,” Damien Riggs and Clare Bartholomaeus of Flinders University in South Australia wrote in the report.
The study analysed YouTube videos shared by transgender youths, in which they described feeling ignored by mainstream information about sexual health, The Australian reported.
What are we now going to get policy via Youtube videos watched?
