PTSD Effects

I work at a hospital for veterans. Alot of the (if not nearly all) have PTSD of some sort. There are wards of severely effected returned servicemen mostly from WW2, Korea and Vietnam...Vietnam vets are starting to become more and more dominant in numbers.

The psych wards are horrific for the poor buggers, violence is rife amongst them...alot don't know what's going on and the drugs don't help them focus.

The common reasons for being there are effects from conflict (obviously), watching friends die, killing, the violence itself, noise (from explosions), training (the conditioning becomes ingrained in the psyche), victimisation (picked on in service)...they all have anger and/or substance abuse issues..depression, of course...just some things to watch out for.

The debriefing they go through these days is lacking as well.
