The crux of the problem is that politicians and AGW faithful cannot
accept one simple fact;
That at sundown on a still day & evening the backup power system has
to be able to carry the FULL LOAD !

Once you get you head around that you can then understand that you
have to build TWO power supply systems.
This will cost at least twice as much, probably a lot more.
So next time you hear talk of 25%, 50% or electricity Bill's 75%
then just give a big yawn and roll over and go back to sleep.

Our windmills, betweenGlen Innes and Inverell, have to have 700 wide load escorted trips from Newcastle docks to the sites; rumour has it that the companies involved offered to restore the rail line from Armidale to Glen Innes and bring all the gear up by rail and then a short 20 km or so haul to the sites.
The State Govt. refused the offer.
Rumour says the refusal was based on the supposition that the locals would want the passenger services restored as the railway would be serviceable.
Only rumour of course.
