But think of the genuine people in need of help
who will be helped in the meantime.

The biggest rort lies in the inability of people over 65 who need NDIS support hung out to dry whilst people under 65 with any sort of disability can claim whatever and whenever.
I personally know mild Down Syndrome people that have 6 figure bank accounts (because they never spend any of their pensions) and their carers are getting free petrol, vehicle;e rebates and recreational items all on the NDIS.
I accept that there are plenty of 100 percent Down Syndrome people who need full support by I thing the degree of disability should be taken into account as well as the practical needs of these people before we hand out cash willy nilly.
The current structure of the NDIS that cuts out the real needy over 65 is totally discriminative against age which makes it illegal.

I have no problem with the NDIS per se, however, it strikes me that the spending is somewhat arbitrarily controlled by a guardian, and whilst most guardians will act responsibly, many will not.

The question then should be how many more could it help if money was not squandered?

Dear Shadow Minister,

I thought that under the new scheme the money would
go directly to the person needing it.
I'll have to do a bit more research on the subject.
