A timely quote from today's Spectator:

"Turnbull is a second term prime minister who squandered his predecessor’s mandate and who’s passing would be mourned mostly by people who vote Labor"

The mandate left for him. That mandate was built on lies and deceit. And you know where he ended up. He won an election on the back of a scam, which had nothing to do with his intentions. A self styled dictator, that his own party could not hack.

How would you describe this man, the pretender for the throne?

ttbn,

I am not a blind supporter of Turnbull.

However I will say that both LNP and Labor leaders have so often been 'supported' by yes-(wo)men and by ministers and a back bench who are busily taking care of themselves. Imagine a rowing crew where all but the Stroke are doing whatever they please and then blaming the Stroke for a wayward, floundering boat.

That suits the media who stereotype to dumb-down the public, sensationalise and play 'gotcha'. Not many real journalists required for that. Or in the case of the ABC, the overflow of journalists can hang over the coffee machine.

Turnbull takes far too much notice of the media circus. That is understandable I guess where that very large publicly-funded outfit, the ABC, has a lean to the green left and is banging away every day and for decades past on socialist 'Progressive' themes.

leoj.

You are too intelligent to support any Australian politician blindly.

I loathe the Opposition and dread its return; but I cannot see anyone in the Coalition who is a proper conservative or worth a pinch of poop. I have reached the dreadful conclusion that Australia is rooted, and and conservatism is dead. The problem can be cured, but I doubt that it will be.

I doubt that at all. Turn bulls passing would be appreciated by labor voters. His hand has been directed by the far right. And that is why he has a hostile senate
If his legislation was any good it would pass without delay.
