What utter disgusting twaddle this Paul fool produces.

One of the big complaints in the country was the classifying of once cleared improved pasture as "pristine" bushland when owners had lost the battle with the trees. Idiot claims that the trees won't come back is just so much twaddle by inner city twits.

Many graziers as they got older could not keep up the work rate to keep the bl00dy bush at bay. In my area tree changers complain bitterly when a grazier locks up a paddock for a year, then puts a fire through it to control the regrowth. They don't like the smoke, or are greeny ratbags.

The same occurs if it's done to control rampant invasive weeds after a drought. That many of our worst invasive weeds are escaped city garden beauties is another sore point out here.

I think the extra noise we are hearing from the greeny ratbags is from their fear. They can see that are past their high tide mark, & the green wave is receding. They will be nothing but a bad memory, like the Democrats, in the quite near future. Good riddance too.

Hassy, what can I say! When it comes to the enviroment you are centainly the tree of knowledge. Your ignorence on old growth forests is amazing. They take 100's of years to regenerate if at all. They are not some scrub in a paddock as you see it. I speak of balance, people like you want total destruction of the enviroment, nothing less.

But has the Big Green got a point?

Jobs are getting less, or so it seems, as automation takes on more and more tasks that were performed by humans.

The voice of the telephone receptionist is now robotic, Veterans' Affairs is one of the last Government Depts. to have a human initial contact.

Supermarkets are relying more and more on Self Checkouts (it amuses me to see most of the local socialists happily doing someone out of a checkout job).

The automation of the major car makers is well publicised and automation looms large on the horizon in many more industries.

So how are people going to have jobs if the working week is not shortened?

Lets also not forget the population is getting older
and some are looking towards "downsizing" in their
working hours. A neighbour recently has shortened
to working 3 days a week "as a start towards eventual
retirement). This may open up opportunities for
others who are currently unemployed.
Changes are inevitable.

Hi Foxy, still in NZ for a few more days, been interesting over here. Some believe work is the number one priorty, and that is fine by me. Others have different values and they to should be respected. A discussion on work and its place in society is worthwhile.

"Your ignorance on old growth forests is amazing. They take 100's of years to regenerate if at all".

You will of course support graziers re-clearing their previously improved pasture, as it can not be classified as pristine forest if old growth forest can't be re-established.

It was Beattie, trying to buy green preferences that started requiring clearing permits, simply to maintain pasture. Strange how the story changes to suit the attempted con job.
