The British Medical Association has advised its members not to call pregnant women 'expectant mothers'; they should be called 'pregnant people'. Why? To avoid offending transgender people.

The guy was a man when he had the under-sized person in a human repair workshop. Pregnant father is what he is until he becomes a sex-changed mother , a mother-to-be. He will mourn the loss of fathering so that's deleted : he's no longer a front-end loader and father of the bride when his daughter marries, just man of the match.

Dear ttbn,
No, the British Medical Association did not advise its members of anything of the sort. The instructions were meant only for organisational staff to be more inclusive in the language they use. Members of the BMA can do what they want. Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 31 January 2017 1:02:58 PM

I wonder how long before there is a designated psycho-medical condition for some men who have been deprived of the joys of giving birth, and raising babies 24/7. Men have to put up with so much, and on top of that, one can only feel dreadfully sorry for their childlessness.
People elsewhere might have troubles, like all those three hundred thousand people in that refugee camp in Kenya. But how can that compare with a gay couple desperate for a 'normal' family life - by having a child ? People can be so cruel and unfeeling. Yeah, I'm sure they did (rolls eyes). Evidence, or it didn't happen. Because if it sounds that ridiculous there's a good chance that some smart-arse invented it just to see how many gullible people he coould get to parrot it. So far I make it two, although it's never easy to decipher what nick actually means by his posts.
Do you believe everything you're told, ttbn? Or do you only suspend your disbelief when it's a 'fact' that makes lefties, poofs, darkies, women etc. look foolish? Posted by Toni Lavis, Tuesday, 31 January 2017 5:02:32 PM

Foxy,
You will, of course, produce evidence? Posted by ttbn, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 10:10:13 AM

Oh it was on Sky news tonight.
It sounds just like we have all been instructed recently, so it will really be true ! Oh my goodness, can we get Trump sent to England ? Posted by Bazz, Wednesday, 1 February 2017 10:54:23 PM

I wonder if there is something like 'pre-news' - stories floated in order to gauge public opinion about something. If a more or less phony issue arises like this, and if people shrug and say, 'Well, that's not so bad,' then advocates can really go for it.
My wife was overjoyed when she became pregnant, and even though it meant, for her, months of extreme nausea, she never suggested that it wasn't worth it, both times. Late in her pregnancy, she had a craving for lemon squash, so she would balance the litre-bottle on her huge belly, drink a glass and then, a few minutes later, bring it up again into a bucket standing by. Then drink another glass. Tough little lady ! But I fancy that very few men would genuinely be willing to go through a pregnancy (and I'm looking forward to medical advances that would 'allow' gay men to get pregnant, although of course, they would have Caesareans). So it's much easier to demand the 'right' to buy one off the shelf, perhaps from an Indian surrogate mother who actually births it. No doubt in such circumstances, we will soon hear of couples going through the trauma of watching their surrogate-partner carrying and delivering a baby for them to take home: oh, the worry, oh the stress ! Some of nick's posts are unreadable. But if a doc rings up the British Association about expectant mothers, the girl will say "we don't say those words here, you ignorant *#*%^$> ". On ABC Morning there's a Dr Carl who calls everyone "doctor". That's more like it.
Crims and students don't like their titles and "executive" or "entrepreneur" are less hurtful to personal feelings. Calling everyone "boss" is acceptable conduct. Posted by nicknamenick, Thursday, 2 February 2017 3:40:51 PM

Well Tony, what is true is that the way things are these days it
just as well could be true, so it does not matter whether it was true or not ! Posted by Bazz, Friday, 3 February 2017 7:55:44 PM

Most P platers overtake me at 150km to show that people who doubt their skills are credibility challenged. One drove into me and expects to be a mother but her feelings were hurt , I blame the insurance companies the greedy profiteering mongrels.

Yes, the BMA guide says on page 5: "A large majority of people that have been pregnant or have given birth identify as women. We can include intersex men and transmen who may get pregnant by saying ‘pregnant people’ instead of ‘expectant mothers’."
But even if that sounds a bit silly, this is just one of 14 pages of what mostly uncontroversial and sensible recommendations, such as: "You should not make assumptions about individuals based on their professed religion or belief system. Not all members of a religion follow the same practices and observances." (page 6). Exactly , Muhamed Ali Detonator is pregnant and takes the first child he gave birth to along to a pre-school. Tugging his beard and swinging the lunch-box he says his bulging belly is not plastic explosives and he signs a form saying the lunch-box contains no batteries , wires or timer.

Poor Mohammad Ali. He ends up being wounded with 19 others.
Six are killed at the mosque they all attend. However the good news is that this unifies the country in solidarity and Mohammad becomes known as the "Restorator." Posted by Foxy, Monday, 6 February 2017 9:49:46 AM

Sadly he was de-sexed altogether in the martyr suicide attempt. But his imam tells him to be a man. He was his mum.
