Yes Coedes wrote about king Kertajaya of Kadiri Java who escaped from his Hindu and Buddhist priests when Ken Arok attacked with his magic kris sword. The king , whose navy had been sailing to west Papua, "disappeared without trace" and went to devalaya "land of gods".
Kris swords were made of meteorite iron alloy and evidently one was used at Bourke in late 1200s ( ANU). A corroborree in NSW 1830s used twigs with Buddhist names representing vajra daggers also made of meteorite iron. The eagle deity of Melbourne threw a star at lawless people and remembered as a meteorite. It was a"dyte" like Yorta Yorta language "duta" and "Kulin durt" meaning a star. Old Javanese "dyuti" means a heavenly body .
