I read recently that there is quite a number of groups that have split
off from mainstream Islam. Only one or two make any noise about it as
they are fearful of being killed for apostasy.
I gather that this trend is stronger amongst those moslems living in
western countries. There is not much information on this trend and I
think a hard line by police on honour killing, FGM, marrying off young
girls and a number of other practises would go a long way to encourage the dissidents.
They need to be certain of support from police and community.
In Germany many of the migrants are appearing at German churches,
looking to convert. Perhaps the churches could take a more proactive stance.

Deporting any immans that step out of line would help, and cancel their
naturalisation on grounds of swearing false oaths.
Bugging the mosques would be a good idea also, at least ASIO would
hear what was being said to the larger numbers.
If the BBC could do it I am sure someone else could.

Rojama,

I never meant to imply there was anything complicated about those biblical verses that I quoted. In fact, I was relying on their simplicity

<<Nothing complicated about that, it says value and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ above all else, not the values or teachings of any other mortal human being, regardless of blood kin or not.>>

Yes, my point exactly. Therefore, good luck in getting a devout Christian to choose the laws of the land over what they believe Jesus wants (and they all have their own opinion of what that is).

<<... and if we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, he also has this to say about how to separate church from state ...>>

So he supported a separation of Church and State of sorts. Great. But that didn’t mean that the law of the land could ever override biblical law. Hence the conflict I raised, and the good fortune in secularism having tamed Christianity to the extent that it has.

<<This applies to ALL religions, it's how one interprets any given doctrine.>>

I’ll take your word for that, but it doesn’t look like I’m the one who needs to be told.
