It was good to read that the Hills Shire council elected to reject, for the second time, the holding of a provacative and divisive 'welcome to country ceromony". It is good to see a body made up of ordinary individuals standing up to bullying and racism against whites.

It is fine for aboriginal Australians to remember and celebrate their culture, some of which might be interesting, or not, to others. But to force it on to other Australians is not fine. It is divisive and racist.

Hopefully, there will be enough of us with the guts and gumption to reject that other stupid symbol of racism and division - the gutting of the Constitution in the name of "recognition".
