Some regressive members of the NSW National Party are calling for the Greyhound business to be given another 3 years to carry on with its cruelty. The Nationals are a mob well known for their tough stance on crime, lock em' up, throw away the key mentality, no second chances.Yet strangely this mob want to give these criminals, not a second chance, but their umteeth chance to mend their ways, they have had 40 years to my knowledge with no result. These "dish lickers" have been given countless chances over the years, without the slightest improvement
"Former Greyhound Racing NSW on-track vet Dr Greg Bryant has spoken out on the ABC's 7.30 program in support of the shock decision to ban the sport in the state, despite threats to his family from greyhound trainers." "I was disgusted by what I witnessed. I saw some horrific injuries and I saw some of the worst aspects of human behavior too," said Dr Bryant, who was an on-track vet in 2014 and 2015. "When I left Greyhound Racing NSW, my view of the industry was that it was a very cruel and corrupt industry." http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-14/the-tail-was-torn-off-former-greyhound-vet-reveals-cruelty/7629906 Posted by Paul1405, Tuesday, 9 August 2016 10:36:16 AM

Yet the Greens support 1080 poison as a feral animal control,

Is Mis, its all double standards. They want to shut the world down, yet enjoy the benefits of the industrial world from cars to travel in, roads to drive on, houses to live in and good old electricity.
What else would you expect. Paul, ill bet the vet put his invoices in hey! As for costing jobs, are you suggesting it won't cost jobs? Where do you propose they seek alternative employment? Posted by rehctub, Tuesday, 9 August 2016 8:15:34 PM

Butch, can you please show the link between greyhound racing, and the benefits of the industrial world from cars to travel in, roads to drive on, houses to live in and good old electricity. So we have greyhound racing to thank for all those benefits, do we?
"Where do you propose they (greyhound people) seek alternative employment?" Given their demonstrated intelligence levels, cleaning out shot houses! They should be in jail! I don't care, just as they don't care about the animal cruelty they inflict. You seem to be so concerned about them, employ them in your chop shop Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 10 August 2016 9:57:49 PM

In the first legislative move to put the nail into the coffin of this disgusting business in NSW, the Legislative Council voted last night 19/12 to ban greyhound racing in NSW. Despite Labor and The Shooters, and a bunch of "dish lickers" in the peanut gallery, trying to frustrate proceedings the government got the legislation up with Greens and cross bench support. Mow its to the lower house where the legislation is expected to pass.

The old chestnut from the apologists "Oh! it will cost jobs!" Did the apologists jump up and down when motor vehicle safety was improved and saved lives, did they howl "Oh! it will cost jobs in the funeral industry!"
