I love this Ad & Toni you are dead right.

I went to a Vegan meeting once with an ex girlfriend. She became a Fruitan. I used to hang her upside down in the closet at night by her toes, like a fruit bat. ;-)

Next we should have a "Forkin' th' Pork" Ad, or vici Versa. ;-) That would be great. Or even "Pullin' th' Bull" or " 'eatin' th' Meat." I'm gettin' carried away here, someone stop me.

I've yet to meet a Vegan that looked or sounded healthy, physically or mentally. I even remember one family, in the 70's. He went on an "Air" diet. He died, Heart Attack. His young son went Gay, 12 months later he got aggressive Aids & died about 5 years later. His wife ended up an alcoholic Cougar. All Vegans. (Except the young son, I guess. ;-) )

I lived in New York City in an apartment house many years ago. Often sharing the elevator with me was a young woman. She was striking in appearance with classical features. However, she had an unhealthy look with pasty skin, shadows under her eyes and a mottled complexion. One time I saw her, and she looked radiant. She positively glowed. The change was remarkable. For the first time I spoke to her and remarked on the tremendous change in her appearance.

She told me she hadn't been feeling well and went to the doctor. The doctor asked what she ate, and she told him she was on a strict vegan diet with not even milk or eggs. The doctor told her to try eating meat a couple of times a week and also try some dairy products. She followed the doctor's advice, and I saw the remarkable results.

Question from a real dumb-arse:

* if none of us ate pork or beef or chicken or lamb, who would put their money into raising a single pig or cow or chicken or lamb in Australia ?

* Would Australia be completely free of such creatures ?

* Or would vegans raise them for the sheer pleasure of it and for their sense of duty to Gaia to avoid the extinction of the species ?

Okay, three questions.

Joe,

1. No one.
2. No, 'cause we'd still have wild cattle and pigs but not many sheep as they aren't at all suited to the local conditions.
3. Probably as they'd be stupid enough.

In my days among the hippies on the NSW North Coast I used to amuse myself by picking the vegans who came into camp, the sallow complexions were a give away and they usually had a general air of dejection about them, possibly it was caused by an unrecognized yearning for a bit of beef!!

Jeez, Is Mise,

Now you've got me salivating, achin' for bacon ! And Polish sausage ! And even black pudding !

What we all need every so often are vegetable-free days .... maybe three times a week :)
