The reason people voted for Turnbull is that the self interests groups
think he seems more affable than Abbott, so he'll give into their
demands which are turning Australia into a weak, silly, society.
tHat won't stand up for itself.

It was wonderful to see Abbott stand his ground and just say nope,
And to see him stand up to Indonesia by towing the boats back.
Also to watch him defeat the left wing and Hippy green rabid bunch,
by refusing to discuss national security with them,so depriving
them of ammunition.
These groups are not used to being told no, so their reaction was to hate Abbott.

Doog,
The climate change issue, is well on its way to being solved in the next
Decade, with more and more Australians converting over to the new cheaper
And much more efficient solar panels with battery backup.
This new advance in solar once it becomes common place in developed countries
Will also spread rapidly to the biggest users of coal, for cooking, lighting
And heating, China and India.
Problem solved. It only needed the new innovations we've seen in solar recently to
bring solar to an affordable option for ordinary people to install and use.
The installing of solar in private homes is escalating at a very rapid rate at the moment.
Across Australia, it will then slowly spread across the world.
No consumer base no,market for coal.
So relax, the problem is in the process of fixing itself.
That's if there is a problem. All the weather I've seen in the last 10years, I''Ve seen before in my lifetime.

CHERFUL, are you simply another hard right conservative, bemoaning the downfall of 'Fearless Leader' and the ascendancy of 'Captain Charisma'? Once the good captain roundup's a few of those noxious weeds still remaining in the Liberal Party he will be free to implement his much anticipated, social, political and economic agenda!

p/s Just a small thing'y, but from now on Malcolm would much appreciate it if all, including your good self, could refer to him as Comrade Turnbull, rather than some disparaging name like 'Captain Charisma'.

I believe Comrade Turnbull is sincere, and genuinely wants to take Australia in a new direction, hopefully for the better. The opportunity has presented itself and I think he will grab it with both hands, only time will tell. The early signs are positive that has wants social change put back on the agenda.

I will reserve my judgment of Turnbull till sometime next year.
I just hope he is not a Rudd like show pony.

Cheerful, solar will not do the job.
The arithmetic is all up the spout.
If you take the amount of solar, wind and battery needed to run
everything for that day and night then that is fine.
However, if you get say three heavy overcast days in a row you need
four times the number of cells and battery capacity.
You still need enough over to get you started the next winter morning.

err what if it is five overcast days ?
I just spent five days in Bleak city and there was not one sunny day.
No, solar & wind are only a transition to the next energy system whatever it is !

Yes you are right overcast weather would be a problem.

But the rapid uptake of solar in millions of
Ordinary homes across Australia, still has to be
Beneficial in lowering the stated global warming.

No I'm not a right wing conservative.
Although I think after being a Labour Party stalwart for
Most of my life I am tired of the stupidity of the Labour Party
In the last 1o Years.

And what is this wonderful social change Malcolm Turnbaull
Is going to bring about.

This country was the most wonderful country in
The world, it has been the influx of incompatible, immigration Caused
By a belief in the flawed ,old hippy mantra of Love and peace
Brother.
War is not about intolerance,
It is about the taking of land and territory.
Multi tribes, one territory = tribal territorial war, ethnic cleansing,
cIvil war, demands for a separate state, rebels,Revolution,
Militia. All want to fight territorial wars.
Societal change for the betterr in the West would be to withdraw from the silly United Nations and protect our own Western society, it's the best system and advanced culture
In the world.. Leave the other countries to stew in the messy, badly run
Places they have made for themselves.
Not the concern of Europe. My mother always said, you look after your own first.
Europe and the Western Labour Party and academics have forgotten that
And are pulling down their own people and societies by putting them last, in their
Save the world agenda.

CHEREFUL;
Solar & wind will reduce CO2 of course, but it is being proposed as
a base load system.
Those that propose it never give any info on serial overcast and/or
windless days. They just ignore it.
Trouble is non-technicals like my daughter-in-law are sucked in completely.
She is one of the close them all tomorrow brigade.
Of course she does not understand what is the real problem.
