If the guns are part of the police uniform I don't
see why they would left off in a court of law or anywhere
else. That doesn't make sense. What about their hats,
trousers, or shoes? (joke).

Seriously, if its part of a policeman's uniform, it

AS a detective I always carried a weapon in court. I seem to remember ComRegs that said you carried your weapon at all times.
